Good run of form in the spring culminated in win over this distance at Newcastle. Looked one to follow then but lost his way and two runs since a break both well below par so now rates a risky proposition.

Not won since debut in 2017 but highly unexposed over true staying distances and latest C&D second suggested it may be the making of her. Same mark today and has to be highly respected.

Unplaced in nine starts and beaten 33L and 47L in two starts since moving to this yard. Upped dramatically in trip but not nearly enough shown to suggest him.

Lightly raced filly yet to make the frame but last two runs over 1m4f both suggested she needs a longer trip so of more interest here. This quite a drastic step up in trip so no guarantee it within range but certainly could be.

10L sixth to Lady Makfi latest in his first start over this distance leaves him plenty to find and as an 18-race maiden his appeal here is minimal.

Forecasts

Falcon Cliffs (4/5), Lady Makfi (7/4), Sweetest Smile (2/1), Geordielad (9/4), Silvington (9/1), Hediddodinthe (10/1), Fearaun (66/1)

Verdict

GEORDIELAD looked a different horse to the one we had last seen on the Flat when returning from a spell over hurdles with his shock Chelmsford success. That came over 1m6f,the longest trip he's so far faced and it is entirely a possible that another step up in trip here will bring about further improvement so he gets the vote. Recent C&D winner Lady Makfi and second, Falcon Cliffs rate the chief dangers.
  1. Geordielad
  2. Lady Makfi
  3. Falcon Cliffs
