In good form just now and positive that she's won here before (1m4f); also been placed over C&D, so ought to cope with today's additional two furlongs. Picks up a 6lb penalty for winning at Lingfield last Friday but still holds sound claims.

Off since a poor run on soft ground at Nottingham in November and steps up significantly in trip here. Does act on a Tapeta surface but still best watched on only his second start for his current yard.

Not raced since June 2017 but can go well fresh and is a previous C&D winner. Yard has been very quiet of late but the gelding is still worth a betting check at least.

Mixed form on the Flat for his former yard and seemed to lose his way a little last year. Has a bit to prove over this trip on debut for a new trainer. Others look more convincing.

Claims on the pick of his form but has become inconsistent of late and comes here on the back of three modest efforts. Blinkers dispensed with today and plenty to prove over this trip.

Not really noted for holding his form but did well to win at Newcastle earlier this month when coming back from a break, so has to merit respect in a similar sort of race. Up in trip but has never really been at his best over 1m6f though.

Has shaped as if she has a race within her and ran on well to make the frame last time out. The winner of that race was third behind French Mix (just over 3l) at Lingfield last week, so has work to do on face value. Place claims once again.

The last year or so has been punctuated with long gaps between his races and the gelding comes into this after a lacklustre effort at Lingfield in December. Difficult to make a strong case for him on that performance.

Won under today's rider over this trip in March 2017 but was well below that standard on his belated return at Newcastle earlier this month. Yard going well just now so still merits respect. The betting can guide here.

Won here seven times and has nothing to fear over the trip. Did as well as could be expected against higher-rated rivals latest and should appreciate this easier company. Dangerous to underestimate despite his advancing age.

Forecasts

French Mix (5/2), Belabour (3/1), Rare (4/1), Yasir (15/2), Party Royal (12/1), Punkawallah (12/1), Agent Gibbs (12/1), Rainbow Lad (20/1), Diamonds A Dancing (25/1), Uncle Bernie (66/1), Sporty Yankee (66/1)

Verdict

There may be more to come from FRENCH MIX, who won well at Lingfield last week and makes plenty of appeal now she's turned out under a 6lb penalty. Rare and course specialist Yasir can make sure the selection is harried all the way, while support in the betting for Rainbow Lad could also be rewarded with a place in the frame. Belabour has never been at his best over this trip but this is a weak race and he too can force his way into the shake-up if he lasts home.
