Best of four runs for current stable when second of 13 over slightly shorter at Wolverhampton. Competes off the same mark, but record of 0-17 does not inspire confidence.
Solid displays on last two outings over C&D and at Lingfield. Races off 1llb lower mark, but remains a maiden after 17 attempts.
Only two wins from 33 starts over a wide variety of distances. Fair effort to be fifth of 13 over 1m at Newcastle last time and has been dropped 2lb.
Sole win in 20 races came on turf, but he has some fair efforts to his name on the AW and his handicap mark is one he may be able to exploit at some stage. Not disgraced when fifth of 13 over C&D last month.
Winner over 7f at this track last month, but well held over 1m on return visit recently. Takes another step up in distance.
Without a win after 27 starts on the Flat, 10 of them on AW surfaces. Fair effort to be third of 14 over this distance at Lingfield last time and runs off the same mark.
Has failed to hit the frame in six races, but was a respectable fourth of 13 over 1m at Newcastle nine days ago. Still early days for him and 2lb lower mark should help over this longer trip.
Out of the frame, but not disgraced, in three AW starts since joining this stable from Phil York's yard. Handicap mark continues to fall and he is 15lb lower than for his only victory at Lingfield in 2016.
Five career wins, but long time since he got his head in front and latest effort over 7f at this venue was only fair. Others make more appeal.
No wins in nine starts for David Simcock and Patrick Chamings. Stable debut and first run since October so worth a check in the betting.
Second of two starts for this trainer since leaving Richard Spencer's yard when beaten a long way at Kempton. Needs to bounce back from that run off the same mark.
Running creditably over hurdles before returning to AW Flat action with a third 13 over this C&D last month. Not so good at Kempton last time, but may do better returned to this surface.
Pulled up in a maiden hurdle when last seen in action at Lingfield in November. Earlier efforts on the level give her plenty to find.
No wins in 20 races and has been placed only once. Recent efforts at this venue do not suggest a change of outcome is on the cards.
Veteran who has 19 wins to his credit. Looks to be on a downward curve, but was not disgraced at Wolverhampton last time.
Oldest runner in the race and clearly not as good as he was despite fair seventh of 14 over C&D when last seen in October. Likely to find younger legs too fast.
Forecasts
Affluence (5/2), Prerogative (7/2), Highwayman (7/1), Clive Clifton (7/1), Imperial Act (8/1), Don't Do It (12/1), Gannicus (12/1), Cold Fire (14/1), Rocket Ronnie (16/1), Mulsanne Chase (20/1), Nicky Baby (20/1), Velvet Voice (22/1), Solitary Sister (25/1), Ertidaad (33/1), Outlaw Torn (33/1), Understory (66/1)
A moderate finale with plenty of horses readily opposed. Those who do make some appeal are headed by Mulsanne Chase, Prerogative, Cold Fire, Imperial Act and ROCKET RONNIE, with a speculative vote going to the latter, who has been in good form over hurdles and shaped well over C&D two starts ago. Ertidaad should be on the premises if staying this longer distance.
- Rocket Ronnie
- Mulsanne Chase
- Imperial Act
