Dual winner on the Flat and outclassed on his two most recent hurdles starts. Beaten 41L third in a novice event at Sedgefield (2m1f, heavy) on hurdling debut in April last year.
Well beaten at big prices in three starts over hurdles to date and a similar result looks likely in this contest.

Bumper winner by 9L on heavy ground at Ayr in March last year. Not replicated that form in three hurdles starts since joining this yard and others hold stronger claims.
Placed in a good ground bumper over 2m at Uttoxeter on debut last May. Fair sixth on hurdles debut at Warwick (2m, good) in September but never involved when well beaten on soft going subsequently.
Improved on previous bumper form when runner-up at Warwick (2m, good) in May. Promising fourth under this rider over an extended 2m5f at Wetherby (good-to-soft) and drops in distance.
Impressive 8L winner of a 3m point-to-point at Loughrea (good) in October. Promising 8L fourth to a subsequent Grade 1 winner at Cheltenham (2m1f, good) on Rules debut last month and likely to play a leading role in this contest.

Placed second in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Kempton (2m, good) on debut in this sphere last February. Good form in Group and Listed company on the Flat since and one for the shortlist on his return to jumping.
Dual winner on the Flat in France and improved on hurdling and stable debut when third over 2m1f at Exeter (good-to-soft) last time out. More needed if he's to take this however.
Struggled in a couple of maiden hurdles in Ireland for previous yard and pulled up on debut for this stable at Taunton (2m3f, good) in March 2017. Likely best watched following nearly two years off the track.

Well held in two starts on the Flat and it was a similar story in a C&D four-year-old hurdle on good ground earlier this month. Others make more appeal.

Forecasts

Daphne Du Clos (1/1), Scarlet Dragon (2/1), Monsieur D'Arque (4/1), Kingofthecotswolds (20/1), Havana Hermano (20/1), Sermando (25/1), Sizing At Midnight (50/1), Welland (66/1), Global Anchor (100/1), Katabatika (100/1), Gleno (150/1), Another Go (150/1), Spectaculis (200/1), French Piece (200/1)

Verdict

A hot looking novice hurdle that can go the way of SCARLET DRAGON who showed up well on hurdling debut in a Graded contest 11 months ago. Point-to-point winner Monsieur D'Arque can finish runner-up following a promising hurdles debut at Cheltenham while the long absent Daphne Du Clos who showed good form in bumpers in 2017 can claim third.
  1. Scarlet Dragon
  2. Monsieur D'Arque
  3. Daphne Du Clos
