Jockey Andrew Ring was looking down at the gelding after the first at Fairyhouse earlier this month, eventually pulling the nine-year-old up after the fourth. Gutsy sort usually well held at this level and well being can be only taken on trust.

Doctor Phoenixp,t24
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-6| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| OR:  152| D
14/1
Gallant sort who is five from 21 over the larger obstacles but isn't getting any younger and likely to find this a tough ask.
3

Invitation Only19
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-6| J: Ruby Walsh| T: W P Mullins| OR:  152
4/1
Twice behind stablemate Al Boum Photo last season in Grade One races. Third behind the same horse on season bow earlier this month at Tramore. Leading player in this company.

Sub Lieutenantp,t19
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-6| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: H De Bromhead| OR:  157| C
6/1
Solis and consistent sort who won a Grade 3 Punchestown contest in October. Well held since but strong place claims at this level.

Amaulino7
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: A Ring| T: R K Watson| OR:  114

Winner at Tipperary in May but failed to make the frame in six starts since. Looks opposable in current form.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-3| J: R M Power| T: Mrs J Harrington| OR:  145| C
25/1
Course winner that has won over the trip. Well held over hurdles recently at Cork and remains two from 15 over fences. First time cheekpieces doubtful to bring about the required amount of progress needed to play a role here.

Total Recall19
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-3| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins| OR:  156
13/8
Pulled up when favourite for the Grand National in April. 6L adrift of Al Boum Photo at Tramore earlier in the month but more expected here.

Tout Est Permis56
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: Sean Flanagan| T: N Meade| OR:  150
2/1
Joined Noel Meade this summer and made impressive start with career-best to win at Galway in October and followed that up with a win at Navan last month off a 10lb higher mark. Deserving of his place here but tough ask.

Forecasts

Total Recall (13/8), Tout Est Permis (2/1), Invitation Only (4/1), Sub Lieutenant (6/1), Doctor Phoenix (14/1), A Toi Phil (16/1), Jett (25/1), Amaulino (100/1)

Verdict

Total Recall and INVITATION ONLY have recently been left floundering behind stablemate Al Boum Photo recently, but the latter can reverse the placings here and landing the spoils in the process. The eight-year-old, Andrea and Graham Wylie-owned gelding could take advantage of the pace set by front-runner Sub Lieutenant. The Noel Meade-trained, Tout Est Permis should not be discounted at any cost and could surprise the main protagonists.
  1. Invitation Only
  2. Sub Lieutenant
  3. Tout Est Permis
