Out of sorts for quite a while and switch to this yard last time brought no improvement. Easy to look elsewhere.
On the downgrade since switch in stables and despite his plummeting handicap mark, makes little appeal in his current form.
First run over the smaller obstacles since April 2016 and although he could be on a handy mark and visored for the first time, his recent chase runs need improving on.
Tailed off both starts since coming back fro a lay off and hard to make a case for until seeing something more positive.
Similar level of form over hurdles and fences and losing run building up. Should run his race but needs to eke out a bit of improvement from somewhere.
Took a long time to get off the mark but then nearly followed up at Wetherby straight after when bumping into a winner who was dropped in class. Clearly in good heart at present and should play a leading role.
Claims on his Southwell third in May. Not in the same form since so bit to prove at present.
Little form in Point-to-points and a similar tale since novice hurdling. Now handicapping and little in the form book to recommend him but from a shrewd yard going places so interesting to see if there is any improvement forthcoming.
This his distance and only just behind Border Victor on latest so entitled to respect though still a maiden after plenty of chances.
Not seen since winning over fences at Newcastle in April but has always appeared to need a run after a break in the past so may be best watched here.
Distant second at Catterick over a year ago was only piece of form for a while so not hard to look elsewhere.
Mixed messages in three runs since joining this yard though bad mistake latest which he failed to recover from. Interesting to see if any money arrives for him.
Winner on the Flat over 1m4f at Catterick in October. Has been a slow burner over hurdles to date but a bit better on latest and could be capable of more improvement now up in trip and certainly one to keep on the right side.
Pretty moderate form to date and needs to find plenty of improvement to play a leading role even in this modest contest.
Has been chasing for a long time and this his first run over the smaller obstacles since 2015. Hard to make a case for.
Ability in the past but struggling in the past 12 months and now running for a different yard for third consecutive race.
Forecasts
Border Victor (4/1), Chocolat Noir (5/1), Bertalus (13/2), Valkenburg (10/1), So Satisfied (10/1), Mash Potato (10/1), Blue Rhythm (12/1), Sevenballs Of Fire (14/1), No No Mac (14/1), Airdrigh (16/1), Veauce De Sivola (16/1), Westend Theatre (16/1), Cavalry Scout (20/1), Coisa Blanco (20/1), Emma Beag (25/1), Marlee Massie (25/1)
Low grade stuff and with the yard in good form at present it may be worth taking a chance that VALKENBURG improves for the step up in trip. Now that he has got his head in front Border Victor should again run his race, while any support for Cavalry Scout would be worth noting.
- Valkenburg
- Border Victor
- Cavalry Scout
