Related to a couple of hurdle winners and turned in a respectable first effort at Ludlow last May, although the second has let the form down since. Likely to need this after an absence.
Half-sister to the useful hurdler Maska Pony, and ought to be up to winning a race or two down the line, but looked to need time after her debut at Lingfield and is easily enough to pass over here.
Half-sister to two winners on the Flat, looked very green on debut at Ludlow but stuck to the task and wasn't beaten far in the end. Will improve, and yard do get winners in this sphere.
Good pedigree and likely to make a nice hurdler/chaser in time, ran green in the latter stages of her bumper debut at Ludlow but shaped well enough and looks a likely player here.
Yard know the family well, dam a half-sister to their Midlands National winner Regal Flow and that gives an indication she's likely to find this a sharp enough test on debut.
Half-sister to the useful Peggie's Venture (placed at Listed level in bumpers) and on paper, ought to be up to making a decent mare. Yard 1-6 with their bumper horses here last five seasons. Watch the market is the advice.
Half-sister to the very useful Western Ryder, did much better on her second start at Lingfield in November, kicking for home early but picked off last couple of strides. Looks one of the main players with a repeat of that here.
Not seen out a long time, last run coming in April 2017, and she had shown little ability in two starts. No realistic chance here.
Related to a few hurdles winners but on breeding, she'll want a bit of time and more of a trip. Yard 2-21 in bumper last five seasons though, so worth a look in the market.
Related to a couple of the yard's winners, Back By Midnight and Glance Back, but both of those needed time and it's likely to be a similar story here. Others preferred.
Bred to want a much longer trip and looked a bit short of pace on debut at Towcester last April. Not seen since then and is likely to need this run.
Half-sister to a bumper winner, good first effort when a staying-on third at Lingfield on debut and this switch to turf should help her cause. Yard have a 14% strike rate in these events so is worth a second look.
Makes little appeal on breeding for this test and yard just 8% strike rate in bumpers. Others readily make more appeal.
Some speed in her pedigree but yard 0-4 in these events last five years, and she looks an unlikely winner.
Forecasts
Ellarna (11/4), Miss Honey Ryder (7/2), What A Hoot (6/1), Glasha's Peak (13/2), Caviciana (8/1), Early Morning Rain (12/1), Bella Beau (16/1), Flowing Cadenza (16/1), Viking Ruby (16/1), Oyster Perch (20/1), Crem Fresh (33/1), Sheeza Legend (33/1), She's A Legend (33/1), Monda's Legacy (66/1)
As ever, the market should prove informative but this looks a decent bumper on paper, with some nice types taking part. Ellarna looks a good starting point after her Ludlow run and she will know more here. Early Morning Rain looked hard work at Ludlow but to her credit she stuck at it and wasn't beaten far in the end. What A Hoot looks another likely improver but the suggestion is the well-bred Miss Honey Ryder, who has already shown plenty of ability and comes from a yard that is not only in better form, but have plenty of winners in this sphere.
- Miss Honey Ryder
- Ellarna
- Early Morning Rain
