On a frustrating run of second placings, latterly over 1m4f at Wolverhampton. Drop in trip not a problem, but 2lb rise in the weights looks harsh. First-time cheekpieces may help.
Kempton winner in November, but has had to settle for the runner-up spot in his last three races. Handicap mark continues to climb and suspicion he is better over 1m.
Failed to get his head in front last year, but the plus side to that is a current mark 6lb lower than for his last success over C&D 13 months ago. Obvious chance if returning to form after a break.
Only three runs when trained by Dermot Weld in Ireland and he was able to land a maiden at Sligo before finishing second in the Ulster Derby at Down Royal. First start for current trainer and makes his AW debut.
First run for this trainer after leaving Dominic Ffrench Davis's yard when scoring in good style over C&D a fortnight ago. Up a hefty 9lb, but cannot be ruled out under his top-class jockey.
