Disappointing at Southwell (1m) on New Years Day after a solid showing there on his penultimate start (7f); perfectly capable of playing a prominent role at this level (Class 5) assuming the switch to Polytrack suits; stablemate of Chikoko Trail.
Returned to the Flat when finishing 2L fourth of seven to all the way winner Military Law at Wolverhampton (1m1f+) recently; makes plenty of appeal in this grade from a reduced handicap mark (77); should go close.
His most recent AW wins have come over 1m2f at Chelmsford but it is positive that he does compete from his last winning mark; has finished runner-up on his last two visits to Lingfield, including when proving no match for Forbidden Planet latest.
Still a maiden after 19 attempts (0-11 on AW); not beaten far (1L) when runner-up to Juanito Chico at Kempton (1m) in December and has turned in some broadly similar efforts since; blinkers are now applied.
Winner off a 2lb lower mark over C&D in September and finished a close up fourth (behind Graceful James) next time; on the premises (third) again at Kempton latest, so it would be foolhardy to totally dismiss him out of hand; stablemate of Shyron.
A 7f regular who has struggled to make much of a positive impression of late; upped in trip for the first time since April 2018; stablemate of The Warrior (preferred); unlikely contender.
Tailed-off in a juvenile hurdle (debut) at Newbury last month, so his attentions are now turned to the AW for the first-time (1-9 on turf); market helpful, albeit his stablemate Thechildren'strust looks to hold far stronger credentials.
Forecasts
Thechildren'strust (11/4), Ambient (7/2), The Warrior (4/1), High Acclaim (6/1), Graceful James (7/1), Chikoko Trail (8/1), Shyron (12/1)
Gary Moore is one of a couple of trainers doubly-represented, with the joint top-weight Thechildren'strust a definite contender assuming that he is able to bounce back from a disappointing run on Fibresand at Southwell. However, the more appealing option is the Roger Teal-trained HIGH ACCLAIM. This 5yo has fallen in the weights after a largely unproductive summer on turf, but he showed some renewed vigour in a stronger contest (Class 4) on his return to the AW at Wolverhampton 16-days ago and should go close from stall 3 with 7lb claimer Seamus Cronin aboard.
- High Acclaim
- Thechildren'strust
- Ambient
