Appeared stretched by a 1m4f trip on his penultimate start (travelled well); appeared ready for a step back in trip. Returned to that same trip last time for his handicap debut and ran poorly; first try at the track and hard to recommend at this trip

No stranger to winning here (9 times); is 0-3 over this trip. Easy to back last time over the 1m2f trip here having got himself too far back (slow away), kept on at the end. All of that suggests he's ready for this trip; capable off this mark.

Failed to improve like many for the switch to this yard having turned in three very moderate performances including one here over 1f shorter. Last two outings have come on Fibresand and a return here may suit better but makes limited appeal.

Very much looks to have been brought along with handicaps in mind her last run here over 1m2f being particularly eye-catching. This 3f trip should bring out her stamina even more as she makes her handicap debut off a very workable mark; major chance.

A four-time winner last year he's never won off a mark this high but hasn't really had the ideal scenario off such marks since his last win. Given plenty to do over 1m6f last time out he may well be seen in a better light here.

Dual course winner who has shaped well of late in a trio of runs, catching the eye in all of them for various reasons and looking better than the bare result on each occasion. She's just slid back below her last winning mark; of interest up in trip.

Lightly-raced sort for his age who makes handicap debut having not been seen since October when he ran over 1m4f. Looked every inch a stayer on that occasion and will be suited by this trip if he takes to this surface (trying it for the first time).

10-race maiden who has gradually worked her way down the handicap from what looked a stiff opening mark. Faced with a less than ideal scenario last time with the race not developing in a way that suited; generally disappointing overall.

Course winner but it's been an age since his last win that coming way back in 2016. Has looked to be heading in the right direction of late (not seen to best effect last time; forced wide); faces a stiff task from 6lb out of the handicap though.

Forecasts

Galitello (2/1), Pivotal Flame (4/1), Queen Of Paris (5/1), Vanity Vanity (5/1), Attain (8/1), Petra's Pony (8/1), Rare (14/1), Carvelas (16/1), Middlescence (20/1), Dolphin Village (25/1)

Verdict

One or two interesting sorts here not least the two lightly-raced sorts making their handicaps debuts in QUEEN OF PARIS and Galitello. The former looks as though this trip may well finally be the stamina test that she needs with her recent run giving her the fitness edge over the latter who has shaped well in maidens and looks ready for staying handicaps. Attain can’t be left out of the equation but has to prove himself at this trip while Pivotal Flame continues to catch the eye of late and having fallen below her last winning mark won’t be far away. Petra’s Pony is worth keeping an eye on in the market despite being handed a stiff enough mark.
