Horse A-Z
1
Horse silk
7/1
Lightly-raced sort who failed to improve for the increased trip/handicap debut at Hereford in October and looks to have been given some time. Ought to be capable of better; worth watching in the market given the connections.
2
Horse silk
Point N Shootb,t40
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: Tom Buckley(10)| T: N J Hawke| OR:  100| CD
12/1
Front-runner who go the run of the race when winning at Exeter in April before disappointing last time out back from a break (jumped poorly). Finished 4th in this two years ago and needs to prove himself off this mark.
3
Horse silk
Bact To Blackp11
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: Rex Dingle(5)| T: R Walford| OR:  97
11/4
Came back to form when hitting the frame last time out over C&D and looking a lot fitter for his comeback run. Yet to win a race but a repeat of his last start would give him a sound chance off a mark such as this.
4
Horse silk
Hier Encore20
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: Harry Teal(5)| T: N Dunger| OR:  97
8/1
Had looked progressive prior to finally getting off the mark last time despite being easy in the market. Travelled well at Fontwell to win in testing conditions and now steps up in trip off a 9lb higher mark; more needed but respected.
5
Horse silk
Jimmy Bell13
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: Miss Brodie Hampson(5)| T: J G M O'Shea| OR:  96
9/2
Still a maiden but not without ability and attracted support last time out without his usual cheekpieces at Hereford; trip (2m4f) looked a little on the short side. Now gets a greater test of stamina and should be able to be competitive off this mark
6
Horse silk
Snowy Oscart35
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: James Davies| T: N J Gifford| OR:  95
20/1
Stepped up on her return run when taking fifth last time out over a much shorter trip but in testing conditions. That was a weak race though and he'll need to show a lot more here over a longer trip to get competitive; one of the lesser types.
7
Horse silk
Cassivellaunus20
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR:  94
10/1
Back on his last winning mark (94) for his last two starts and looks as though he's capable of winning something like this if he goes through with his effort. Will handle the track/trip just needs to prove himself one to trust in a finish.
8
Horse silk
Burgess Dream20
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-4| J: P J Brennan| T: Miss A M Newton-Smith| OR:  92| CD
11/1
Winner of this two years ago off a much lower mark he's come right back to form of late wining his last two races (both over fences; capitalising on a lower mark). Now has to prove that he can better that form back over hurdles off a higher mark.
9
Horse silk
Cloud Hopperp120
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: Page Fuller(3)| T: Jamie Snowden| OR:  90
50/1
Cheekpieces are now reached for after she was pulled up on her handicap debut (laboured badly) at Fontwell in testing conditions. Now steps up in trip by 4f but hard to make a case for on current evidence.
10
Horse silk
Minella Gathering14
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-0| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Henderson| OR:  88| D
12/1
Failed to show any improvement on his second run back from a break at Fakenham (a track that he's run well/won at before) last time. Has now dropped below his last winning mark and not out of this if his jumping improves.
11
Horse silk
Auenwirbel33
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: G Sheehan| T: Mrs L J Young| OR:  87
25/1
A tumbling mark was responsible for his being able to win at Worcester in the summer over fences although he's been far from in the same form since. Looks to have lost his way of late especially in this sphere and of little interest.
12
Horse silk
Silver Ticket270
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-3| J: M Goldstein| T: Mrs L J Mongan| OR:  77
33/1
Lightly-raced sort whose form over hurdles is modest at best and whose career has been punctuated by plenty of breaks. Not seen for quite some time and best watched on his return.
13
Horse silk
Cockney Seagullv35
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-0| J: Brendan Powell| T: Mrs L C Jewell| OR:  74
33/1
Little sign of ability so far in seven starts in bumpers and over hurdles; has looked temperamental on occasions. Visor now returns as he's upped in trip; very limited appeal on what he's shown so far.
14
Horse silk
Lamh Ar Lamhp,t57
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-0| J: S Bowen| T: N J Hawke| OR:  73
12/1
Two runner-up slots in her last two starts have shown that there is the ability there to win something at this level off a lowly mark. Cheekpieces are now added for the first time over hurdles to her usual tongue-tie; contender for a place at least.
15
Horse silk
Micquus35
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: James Best| T: J W Mullins| OR:  69
28/1
Still a maiden and now tried over his longest trip for this yard once again from out of the handicap. Well below any sort of form last time out in testing conditions and not one to be getting involved with even at this level.
16
Horse silk
Kerry's Lordt26
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Graham Carson(7)| T: Joanne Thomason-Murphy| OR:  69
80/1
Placed twice in nine point-to-points that remains the height of his ability with a Rules record that reads 0-11. Fared no better than before when last seen at Exeter over 2m6f in testing conditions; not one to have much faith in.
17
Horse silk
Remember Me Well35
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-0| J: Adam Wedge| T: R Rowe| OR:  66
33/1
Life is hard from 8lb out of the handicap and she offered little last time out in a similar situation. Previous form confirms that she's of limited ability and would be a surprise candidate to take this.

Forecasts

Bact To Black (11/4), Jimmy Bell (9/2), Pottlereaghexpress (7/1), Hier Encore (8/1), Cassivellaunus (10/1), Burgess Dream (11/1), Point N Shoot (12/1), Minella Gathering (12/1), Lamh Ar Lamh (12/1), Snowy Oscar (20/1), Auenwirbel (25/1), Micquus (28/1), Cockney Seagull (33/1), Remember Me Well (33/1), Silver Ticket (33/1), Cloud Hopper (50/1), Kerry's Lord (80/1)

Verdict

No real shortage of those that will feel that they are in with a chance here with the winner two years ago Burgess Dream being one of them having been in good form over fences of late. Pottlereaghexpress looks to be capable of better and she needs paying close attention to in the market while Hier Encore should again run his race despite a 9lb higher mark with Point N Shoot better than his recent Market Rasen effort suggests. Lamh Ar Lamh will be in contention again and is hard to leave out of the equation and the same can be said of Bact To Black. JIMMY BELL should be suited by this trip though and he shaped well enough on his recent return to believe he can win something like this.
  1. Jimmy Bell
  2. Bact To Black
  3. Point N Shoot
