Prolific in point-to-points last season and jumped really well to score at Newton Abbot and Exeter (3m6f,soft). Met an improver in between those successes and clearly capable of defying a 10lb rise in this company.

Enjoyed a good season in 2016-17, but poor in three starts on return last spring and has a further absence to overcome in what could be a gruelling contest.

Leicester selling hurdle winner a month ago with a poor strike rate over fences. Tailed off on yard debut and hard to enthuse about his prospects.

Up considerably in class and trip following his success here last month when surviving a mistake at the last. Faces a stiff task over this trip for one so young.

Looks fully weighted off a mark 9lb higher than for his last win. Has been off a couple of months and stable have been quiet.

Capable on his day and jockey booking takes the eye. Gets a 12lb pull with The Two Amigos for the 18L he has to find on Exeter form, but that run will have been needed and he should go close off his low weight.

Has benefitted from the fitting of cheekpieces but up in class here and his jumping will be tested by The Two Amigos and Big Meadow who like to press on.

Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: R T Dunne| T: J L Flint| OR:  105

6-52 record but almost two years since his last success. Has a good cruising speed but does not find much under pressure nowadays. Placed in two regional Nationals last year and each-way claims again in a race that will be run to suit.

Forecasts

The Two Amigos (11/8), Big Meadow (4/1), I See You Well (5/1), The Tin Miner (7/1), Pearl Swan (9/1), Calin Du Brizais (14/1), Lac Sacre (16/1), Rightdownthemiddle (50/1)

Verdict

The Two Amigos and BIG MEADOW clashed at Exeter last month with the former jumping well to demolish his rivals. However, the weights here favour the selection particularly as he was making his seasonal bow and was ridden with more restraint than usual. The champion jockey is a significant booking and he can turn the tables here. Lac Sacre is hard to win with nowadays but he has form on this ground over marathon trips and he could make the frame again at a decent price.
  1. Big Meadow
  2. The Two Amigos
  3. Lac Sacre
