Makes his handicap debut on the Flat after some modest efforts on the level before (flattered on debut in this sphere). Has been running poorly over hurdles of late and beaten 50L on his last try in that discipline; first try on Fibresand.

Multiple winner on the surface (twice over this trip) and looked as though she had come on for her reappearance run when last seen over the rarely used 2m2f trip here. Likely to go close on that run and back below last winning mark.

Twice a winner on this surface over shorter trips (1m6f the furthest) he has won over fences since but that victory was nearly two years ago now. Looked very rusty when well beaten behind Constituent last time after a long break; best watched.

Has a good record here (6221) with the win coming over this trip last August off a 5lb lower mark and not been seen on the Flat since. Hasn't really taken that momentum over into his hurdles runs of late and raced in a sluggish manner last time.

Only success here from nine attempts came over this trip (off an 8lb higher mark); gave a sign that he might be returning to form last time over 1m4f here. 2nd to a well backed favourite on that occasion and a repeat would see him go close.

Course winner (over 1m) and has generally gone well on his other Flat outings here. Poor of late over hurdles though and this represents a big step up in distance for him; pulled up over hurdles here last time and not one to rely on.

Switch to the Flat has so far failed to work the oracle and show any improvement on his poor bumper/hurdles form (pulled up both hurdles runs). Now significantly up in trip for his Fibresand/handicap debut from 1lb out of the weights.

Failed to show any improvement from his initial run in a 2m handicap on his 2nd start for this yard and is now tried in a new headgear combination. Makes limited appeal on what he's shown so far even in this lowly grade.

Transformed by a switch to this surface and the addition of a first-time visor last time when running out a decent winner over this trip. That was a very weak race but he's still off a basement mark with a leading amateur taking the ride.

Has looked way out of her depth in three hurdles runs so far and no surprise to see her revert to the Flat. Still yet to win on the level though and now makes her debut on this surface having had a wind operation; restricted appeal.

Forecasts

Constituent (7/4), Tynecastle Park (11/4), Ruler Of The Nile (11/4), Katie Gale (8/1), Allnite (20/1), Chorus Of Lies (25/1), Animated Hero (33/1), Monzino (33/1), Edgar (40/1), Rock N'stones (50/1), Bertie Moon (50/1), Boru's Brook (80/1)

Verdict

Just a low-key event with very little strength in depth and most of these will struggle to get involved. Katie Gale will appreciate the surface and she’s looked on the way back of late; will lack nothing in assistance from the saddle and on a good mark. Ruler Of The Nile is another who looked to be returning to winning form last time with a 2nd to a well backed favourite and he also has a more than competent pilot doing the steering. Serena Brotherton is always a rider to respect in these events though and she partners the last time out winner CONSTITUENT who looked well suited by this surface and although that was a weak race he still looks to have another win in him off this lowly mark.
  1. Constituent
  2. Katie Gale
  3. Ruler Of The Nile
