Has improved with racing for Sue Smith (formerly with Nicky Henderson) and did little wrong when edged out by Nakadam at Carlisle (3m2f, soft) latest; up 4lb since but remains on a fair mark; track should suit; player.
Deservedly off the mark at Ayr (3m, heavy) in November when fending off the four-timer seeking Beau Sancy; now 7lb higher but this extra yardage is well within range based on pedigree and previous form (Carlisle - March 2018); player.
Without a win since April 2017 (finished third in this race in 2016); ran well up until a point in the Borders National (4m) here latest, but was beginning to feel the pinch when unseating his rider at the 19th fence; pace angle.
Theoretically should be competitive off this mark as a four-time winner in 2016. That said, has struggled to recapture anything like his best form of late and is probably vulnerable over this trip even at a sharp track like Kelso.
Came from out of the clouds when winning for the first time over fences at Carlisle (2m4f, heavy) recently; 2lb higher in the weights today and perhaps unsurprisingly up in trip; chance, but possibly most effective at that Cumbrian venue.

Forecasts
Geronimo (1/1), Lough Derg Farmer (2/1), Special Prep (5/1), Calivigny (6/1), Amilliontimes (8/1), Carrigdhoun (14/1), Scotswell (16/1)
Calivigny finished off strongly when scoring at Carlisle, so is perhaps unsurprisingly upped in trip. However, the suspicion remains that he's best suited by that particular track and he is taken on with both Lough Derg Farmer and GERONIMO. Sandy Thomson saddled a big race winner here recently in the shape of Harry The Viking (Borders National), and another success for his 7yo gelding rates as a distinct possibility despite a 7lb weights rise for winning at Ayr in November. This extended 3m2f trip is well within range.

- Lough Derg Farmer
