Gained the tenth win of his career and third C&D success here nine days ago, forging well clear of the chasers in the closing stages. Carries 6lb penalty but can go close with repeat effort in this field.
Bounced back to form when winning over C&D penultimate run, winning with some authority. Struggled here earlier this month under penalty and runs from same mark now.
Gained first win in two years over a mile at Kempton in October but well held in two further starts there from increased mark. Has won here over a furlong shorter in the past from higher mark.
Run of very consistent form (including 1m½f here) came to an abrupt end with poor show over C&D last time. Must bounce back now.
Had shown very little prior to making a mockery of a C&D handicap in October, winning by 8L. Handicapper was unimpressed and duly struggled around here last time. 13lb higher than winning mark now.
Has a couple of 7f wins at Newcastle from his last four starts, best form is over shorter than this and can often give away ground with tardy starts.
Won here over an extended-mile in October (rated 3lb lower). Has made the frame here in three runs since and should run his race once again.
Exposed filly is 0-14 to this point, though she came closest to getting a win over this C&D in November 2017 when beaten under 2L into fourth of 13. Not consistent by any means, but rated 13lb lower now.
Can be a bit tricky at times and has been in poor form lately, failing to beat a rival home in starts at Lingfield and here since a wind operation. Up significantly in trip, but easily overlooked on form.
A 10-time winner but has really struggled throughout this year and looks a shadow of his former self. Easy to dismiss on recent evidence.
Eight-race maiden requires a significant step up to be competitive and has looked a tough ride on his latest two starts. Needs to show plenty more.
Forecasts
King Oswald (7/2), Mr Red Clubs (4/1), False Id (13/2), Arrowzone (7/1), Pike Corner Cross (7/1), Final Attack (8/1), Foxy Locks (9/1), Lone Voice (14/1), Sigrid Nansen (14/1), Amaranth (33/1), Polar Forest (33/1)
MR RED CLUBS was right back in tune here nine days ago when scoring in decisive fashion. He's still potentially well-treated despite a 6lb penalty and can add to his tally now. Pike Corner Cross has form to go well at this track if near his best while Final Attack and Arrowzone are relatively consistent sorts worth considering. The filly Sigrid Nansen has plummeted down the weight but is on a decent mark if she's in the mood.
- Mr Red Clubs
- Pike Corner Cross
- Sigrid Nansen
