A modest sort over hurdles (0-6) she hardly got off to the best start over fences (held up; fell 7th) over 2m3f here. Now given an ease in grade and tried over a shorter trip for her second try over the larger obstacles.
Went through a fine spell of form over C&D earlier in the year (1121) always appreciating the testing ground. Things have rather fallen apart (particularly in the jumping and temperament departments) away from here; hopes pinned on a return to form.
Well beaten on his stable debut over fences last time over 2m4f at Hexham in a one-sided handicap although the first two have done little for the form. Dropped in class/weights/distance now for a yard going well of late.
Unreliable character but appears to like this course (five-time winner) with two of his four C&D wins having come in this race. Back to form last time from out of the blue (not unusual for him) but does have to back that run up which isn't a given.
Needs to settle better to fulfil any potential she has although she shaped quite well on her chase debut at Hexham (jumped well) until finishing held in the end. Again free last time, raced clear until fell over, may be better at this trip.
Twice a course winner (one C&D win to his name), he's shown very little of late despite getting plenty of help from the handicapper (15lb below last winning mark). Pulled up last time and this unreliable sort is hard to recommend.
One of two from this yard who does have two C&D wins to his name (both off higher marks) although his form of late has been laboured. Needs to run from his proper mark to at least have a chance and others appeal more.
A career record of 0-37 (0-12 in this sphere) hardly inspires confidence and his two runs since returning from a lengthy absence (32 months off) have been poor. 10lb out of the handicap here and a poor jumper; a win would be a major shock.
Forecasts
Roxyfet (2/1), Rossmore's Pride (11/4), Frankie Ballou (6/1), Duhallowcountry (15/2), Tickerty Boo (17/2), Ringaringarosie (9/1), Gin Cobbler (16/1), Bertielicious (40/1)
Reliable types and form are hard to find in this with the winner in 2015 and 2017 Roxyfet given a good chance of completing a hat-trick in the race under a promising 7lb conditional jockey. At this level Tickerty Boo could be a danger and the same could be said of the free-going Ringaringarosie who if given too much rope could make all. Frankie Ballou needs to reproduce his previous C&D form (not much sign of that lately) and a chance is taken with ROSSMORE'S PRIDE from the in-form Rebecca Menzies yard. The drop in trip may help him to show more this time around.
- Rossmore's Pride
- Roxyfet
- Ringaringarosie
