Horse A-Z
€22,000 yearling; half-brother to four winners on the Flat including a couple of useful sorts in Jaameh and Ewell Place; penalised for an emphatic debut win at Carlisle (1m6f, good) last month - form franked by Book Of Invasions.

Aquitaine Boy
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: C O'Farrell| T: J Ewart
9/1
Seventh foal; half-brother to bumper winner Ouro Branco; doubly-represented trainer is 0-10 in bumpers this season; market a handy guide.
3
Horse silk
9/1
Cost 11,500gns; has appeared to be raw and inexperienced in his first two starts (ran in snatches); has clear scope and size but needs to improve in order to trouble stablemate Alright Sunshine (based on Carlisle form); blinkered.
€28,000 foal; half brother to a trio of Flat winners (6f-2m); raced keenly but never overly competitive when beaten 14+L by Book Of Invasions on debut at Doncaster (1m5f) three weeks ago.
5
Horse silk
50/1
€8,000 3yo; fourth foal from a predominately PTP based family; trainer not known for saddling winners in these type of events.

Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Ross Chapman(3)| T: J Ewart
25/1
Stablemate of Aquitaine Boy; cost 10,000gns as a yearling (half-brother to mainly sprint winners); needs to significantly better his Market Rasen debut effort (1m5f).

Horse silk
Lossiemouth39
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Alan Johns| T: T Lacey
4/1
In contention when running out and unseating his rider on debut (6/1) at Huntingdon last month; Tom Lacey's sole runner on the card (4-9; 44% at Newcastle); chance.
€38,000 foal (13,000gns vendor 3yo); dam an unraced half-sister to the 1m4f Listed Flat winner My Renee; market should provide some clues; trainer in-form at present.
Having shown some initial promise is likely to do far better in due course when encountering obstacles (over 2m); plenty to do with Alright Sunshine based on Carlisle form.

Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: James Corbett(5)| T: S Corbett
50/1
Well beaten (finished tenth of 13) on debut behind Alright Sunshine at Carlisle last month (started 50/1 on that occasion); very mixed stamina messages on pedigree.

Horse silk
Zambino
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Kevin Jones(3)| T: M F Harris
33/1
€7,500 juvenile; third foal; half-brother to a winner by Sabiango; difficult to envisage him being overly competitive.

Forecasts

Alright Sunshine (6/4), Lossiemouth (4/1), Master Newton (8/1), Aquitaine Boy (9/1), Beast Of Belstane (9/1), Stormin Norman (9/1), Bempton Cliffs (16/1), Foxey (25/1), Zambino (33/1), Tommycole (50/1), Fourth Of July (50/1)

Verdict

ALRIGHT SUNSHINE has already accounted for plenty of today's rivals, including stablemate Beast Of Belstane when making an impressive debut at Carlisle (1m6f, good) and despite encountering softer ground here (with a penalty) is strongly fancied to follow up with that form also franked by the runner-up Book Of Invasions (John Ryan) at Doncaster. Tom Lacey has a solid overall record at Newcastle (4-9, 44%) so Lossiemouth appears to be an obvious danger, whilst the Straightline Bloodstock-owned Beast Of Belstane should prove capable of winning races with additional racing experience.
  1. Alright Sunshine
  2. Lossiemouth
  3. Beast Of Belstane
