Multiple Flat winner over 1m1f-1m2f, all with soft in the going description. Some promise shown in both outings over timber thus far (behind Sporting Press at Ayr last time) and should get involved at business end.
Yeats gelding, point-to-point winner in April 2016, not spotted since tame effort in Bangor novice contest over 2m3½f that winter. 754-day absence to overcome, but has plenty time on his side as a four-year-old and in good hands.

Dual Flat winner on soft and heavy ground in France for Nicolas Clement. Placed in a maiden hurdle at Cork (2m, soft-to-heavy) for Gordon Elliott in November 2017. Backwards in three starts since, including stable bow last month at Sedgefield.
Has shown some promise in both a bumper for Malcolm Jefferson and on his reappearance/stable debut at Wetherby last month. Looked one-paced there but attempt over 2m5f at same track this month brought a tame effort. Drawing board for now.
Cost £26,000 earlier this year and has plenty of placed point-to-point form to his name but offered little on his Rules debut over hurdles at Ayr (2m4f, heavy). Better since at Musselburgh, though that was over 3m.

Couldn't win a point-to-point, but landed a bumper on his second rules start at Musselburgh in March. Chased home favourite on second hurdles start at Ayr (2m, heavy) and should have leading say in this field.

Forecasts

Sporting Press (8/11), Mountain Hawk (4/1), Dark Ruler (9/2), Skyhill (10/1), Manamite (12/1), Lost Frequency (25/1)

Verdict

Keith Dalgleish has his string in fine order just now, with a 33% strike rate from 15 runners recently. SPORTING PRESS has run well in two starts over hurdles and should get off the mark now by confirming Ayr placings with Dark Ruler, the pair having finished second and third respectively at Ayr last month over similar trip. Manamite may do best of the rest ahead of Musselburgh third Skyhill, who is dropping right back in trip from three-miles.
  1. Sporting Press
  2. Dark Ruler
  3. Manamite
