Enjoys plenty of cut in the ground, both wins coming on soft and one of those victories was here too. Late in the day to be going chasing though, and may well need this run after an absence, so others preferred.

Couple of good runs under these conditions to his name, and interesting that connections are wasting little time with him over hurdles. Brother to some useful types and first start for this yard, both of which make him very interesting here.

Came good at Wincanton in the spring, but that was on much quicker ground than he will face here and although it was a step back in the right direction at Taunton latest, again it was on faster. Not out of it, but others make more appeal.

Has always looked like chasing would be his game, no issue with heavy ground and trip fine but found little for pressure last week at Huntingdon, which is a concern. Quick turnaround for a yard in form makes him more interesting, though.

Two wins in 18 starts over hurdles, the latest of them coming on her final start here back in May. Not seen since, so may need this, and the ground likely to be plenty slow enough for her too. Others preferred.

Has already had a few goes over fences, gone close twice this term, but a couple of recent efforts rather suggest the handicapper has a hold of him at present. May require better ground to show his best too.

First start for this yard after being previously trained by Charlie Longsden, but not seen out for over a year now and trainer going through a very quiet spell. Best watched on chase debut here.

Much improved effort at Uttoxeter last time, the cheekpieces (on again here) seemingly making all the difference. Jumped right there but it didn't stop him, and every chance of following up under a penalty, with conditions probably fine.

Forecasts

Cougar's Gold (9/4), Carole's Vigilante (11/4), Mixchievous (4/1), Lex Talionis (7/1), Quieto Sol (12/1), Gone Platinum (14/1), Fille Des Champs (14/1), Driftwood Haze (20/1)

Verdict

Mixchievous makes some appeal as the type t do better over fences and after a poor spell in the autumn, the yard are going much better now. But if COUGAR'S GOLD can reproduce his Uttoxeter win under the penalty here then he's going to take some beating. Carole's Vigilante is another that may well do better now he sees some fences and isn't ruled out.
  1. Cougar's Gold
  2. Mixchievous
  3. Carole's Vigilante
