Fetched £235,000 after landing a good ground Point-to-point in April 2017 and defied an absence to win a Bumper at Punchestown last month. Created a good impression then and very interesting runner on hurdling debut.
Placed in a Bumper but has shown little in two goes over hurdles and will do better when handicapping after this.

Some ability in Point-to-points despite having jumping problems, but was tailed off on hurdling debut and easy to look elsewhere.

Criq Sun34
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: L Fowler
33/1
Has shown little in a pair of hurdling runs and his Bumper effort last time has taken a few knocks since. Jockey booking a plus but otherwise little to recommend.

33/1 when tailed off having broken a blood vessel on hurdling debut in May. Absent since and best watched for now.

Won a 2m4f Bumper in May and has made the frame in both hurdle runs at that trip. Now drops down to 2m and although he has the best hurdling form on offer, may be vulnerable to a progressive type.

66/1
Took a step backwards on second attempt over hurdles last time and probably appeals more as a long term prospect.
Won a Ballinrobe Bumper in May and having finished second on hurdling debut in October, his latest run can be excused as he was hampered at halfway. Open to improvement.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: M A Enright| T: M F Morris

Managed to complete on latest but was still tailed off and is impossible to fancy on all known evidence.
10
Horse silk
100/1
Third in a Point-to-point but no show on hurdling debut and the drop down to the minimum trip isn't a positive.
11
Horse silk
100/1
66/1 and was hopelessly tailed off on recent Punchestown debut so not hard to look elsewhere.

Bill Hickok118
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: M Browne(7)| T: N Meade
100/1
Relatively short in the betting on his debut but didn't show a great deal and a similar story in two runs since including on the flat last time.

Horse silk
100/1
Tailed off at 50/1 behind a few of these on Thurles debut last month and needs to show abnormal in a short space of time.

Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: Mark Walsh| T: N Madden
50/1
Seventh foal, half-brother to Bumper winner Champagne Paddy and dam won races over hurdles as well as on the flat.

Beaten 78L when midfield on hurdling debut at 50/1 at Punchestown last month and impossible to fancy on that evidence.
Has shown a modicum of ability in two runs over hurdles but suspicion he will do better when handicapping over further in due course.

Fourth foal, dam was a maiden hurdler and would need to see some interest in the market here before getting involved.
19
Horse silk
100/1
Little promise in Point-to-points, a Bumper and a hurdle race and east to look elsewhere here.

Horse silk
16/1
Showed a measure of ability on Clonmel debut over further in May and should improve on that though drop down in trip a slight concern.
€52,000 as three-year-old and a half-brother to decent winners Mystic Theatre and Morello Royale. Debut here and interesting if market speaks in his favour.
Stepped up on Ayr debut at Naas last time and should have more to come but likely it will be in handicaps over further in time.

Verdict

The hurdling debut of BATTLEOVERDOYEN is awaited with interest and he should be up to maintaining his unbeaten record across different spheres. If he doesn't live up to his billing Momus is the most likely to take advantage with Pike County seemingly best of the rest.
  1. Battleoverdoyen
  2. Momus
  3. Pike County
