Makes his Rules debut having run in a couple of point-to-points winning the 2nd of them by 8L earlier in the year. Was a comfortable winner on that occasion but this is a different test and others may just have a little too much experience for him.

Cost £60,000 after winning an Irish point-to-point by 8L on his only start in that sphere. Made little impact on his bumper debut (quite well fancied in the market) looking a little short of pace over 2m; hurdles debut stepped up in trip now.

A winner in point-to-point company by 7L on his debut/only run in that sphere he showed plenty of ability on his sole bumper run (shaped like a stayer). Improved again when sent hurdling (2m4f, heavy), further will suit; had a wind op recently.

Shared the spoils on his only start in an Irish point-to-point and cost £48,000 after that "win". Showed plenty of ability on his hurdling debut for this yard at Chepstow in a hot contest where the 3rd and 4th both scored next time.

Found his form in Irish point-to-points scoring on his 2nd start (fell debut); winning twice more in that discipline. Well held on his only bumper start but improved to finish 3rd on his first outing for this stable; work to do with Highland Hunter.

Highland Hunter (6/5), Court Master (7/4), Diger Daudaie (9/4), Bubbles Of Gold (11/4), Manetti (7/1), Barfly (28/1)

Verdict

Quite a competitive novices’ hurdle with plenty of point-to-point form on display and Highland Hunter has to give away weight to the entire field as he’s penalised for his Ayr win where he had Manetti back in 3rd. Diger Daudaie comes from a Chepstow race that is starting to work out well and looks quite strong form while Bubbles Of Gold will appreciate this step up in trip. COURT MASTER has had a recent wind op and he’s shaped like a real stayer in both his Rules starts so far and this 2m6f trip looks made for him to give the likely market leader a good race.
  1. Court Master
  2. Highland Hunter
  3. Diger Daudaie
