Gained first win since leaving Godolphin with a strong success at Wolverhampton. Drop in trip no issue and likely to go close again under a 6lb penalty in a lower grade.

Losing run stretches over two years now but he ran solidly in a conditions race at Lingfield and the return to this trip will suit.. Back on last winning mark so can't be discounted.

Now two from four on the AW after a smooth win at Kempton. 5lb rise and tougher grade to overcome but could be competitive.

Two from five on turf and solid fourth on AW debut over this C&D on first run since being gelded. Just looked a touch one-paced and a bit to find with Firmament from that run.

Won his first two starts on AW but hasn't built on that since. Disappointed when last seen in July and also on previous visit here. Bit to prove on first run since gelding operation.

Twice a C&D winner and back on a fair mark but has previously found the step up to this class tough and others look stronger candidates.

Verdict

Firmament isn't proving an easy horse to win with but is on a favourable mark and looks to have conditions to suit now. There is the worry of a muddling affair with no obvious pace but it's still worth sticking with GREATEST JOURNEY down to this grade and he should have more to offer for his current stable. This will be tougher for Breden but he won with plenty in hand last time.

  3. Breden
