Won following a wind operation at Wolverhampton three starts back and arguably improved on that with a third in this grade last start. Could have more to offer in first-time visor.
Lightly-raced and a C&D winner on only previous visit here, however has failed to beat a rival in both starts in handicap company. Others preferred.
Boasts 13 wins in his career and down to a good mark, however needs to lift on recent form with a wide draw little help.
Now 2lb below last winning mark but has struggled to make an impression since, which included a refusal to race. Others look more reliable.
On a very good mark and only just touched off over 6f here last time. Yet to place in previous three starts over this trip and that rates a concern.
Raced well on only previous AW start but yet to add to last year's sole success. First run since wind surgery and a disappointing Beverley run and wide draw a negative.
Has been struggling off higher but back now to last winning mark. Likes to race on the pace and well drawn. Looks a likely contender.
Former C&D winner and edging back now to a competitive mark. Likes to front-run and gets a good draw. Can make a bold bid.
Looked to have returned to form two starts back before another disappointing effort. First-time visor needs to help and others look more solid propositions.
Remains 13lb higher than Chelmsford win and has struggled off this mark the last twice including on stable debut. Best watched following a break.
Forecasts
Kath's Lustre (3/1), Meerpat (11/2), Hollander (11/2), Independence Day (6/1), Entertaining Ben (6/1), King Crimson (8/1), Gold Stone (9/1), Angel of The South (11/1), Come On Dave (12/1), Hit The Beat (25/1)
Entertaining Ben and Meerpat are both well drawn for runners liking to race on the speed and with both on handy marks, they have to be respected. Preference though is for HOLLANDER who is an improved performer since his last visit here and remains open to further progress following a career-best effort.
- Hollander
- Entertaining Ben
- Meerpat
