Game sort who went down by a neck in the Grade 2 Florida Pearl last month finishing second of six at Punchestown. Another bold show looks likely in first-time visor for a trainer has won three of the last five renewals of this Grade 1 contest.
Useful chaser, stayed on well to win 2m2½f good-ground Grade 3 Novice Chase in October before finishing 9L adrift of Voix Du Reve in a Grade 2 contest at Punchestown last month. Place claims.
Solid and consistent novice chaser over the summer who struggled a little stepping in to graded company. Plenty to prove at this level, though yard have a 28% win and place strike rate at this meeting in the last three years.
Solid hurdler, winner of the Pertemps final at the Cheltenham Festival in March before running well behind Next Destination in April. Appeared to have plenty left when winning on chasing introduction at Down Royal last month. Enters calculations.
Finished second in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival over a similar trip in March. Landed a beginners chase at Naas last month over 2m3f in facile style but more needed here.
Useful 142-rated hurdler who got off the mark over the larger obstacles on his second start in a Navan beginners contest last month beating Duca De Thaix - winner here Saturday - keeping on well to win by ½L. Not easily dismissed.
Made it two out of two over fences with a effortless triumph in the Grade 3 Like A Butterfly novice chase in October at Tipperary over this trip. More needed but a leading player in this contest.
Course winner that has also scored over this trip. Winner of a Wexford 2m beginners chase in October but the Stowaway gelding looks up against it here.
Won a Grade 3 novice chase at Galway in August but the step up in trip and grade appeared to be a step too far for the Manduro gelding at Clonmel last month. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement.
Encouraging form in a couple of career beginner contests recently but it is hard to see her making any significant impact here.
Won the second chase of her career last month at Cork but appears to be well out of her depth in this company.
Forecasts
Le Richebourg (11/4), Delta Work (10/3), Discorama (6/1), Cadmium (7/1), Mind's Eye (8/1), Blow By Blow (8/1), Jetz (9/1), Rashaan (33/1), Dawn Shadow (33/1), Cubomania (50/1), High Nellie (100/1)
Trainer Gordon Elliott has won three of the last five renewals of this Grade 1 contest and DELTA WORK can add to the impressive figures here. The winner of the Pertemps final at the Cheltenham Festival in March before running well behind Next Destination in April at the Punchestown festival shaped well enough on chasing introduction to suggest there was plenty more to come from the Network gelding. Stablemate, Blow By Blow and the Joseph O'Brien-trained Le Richebourg could cause the biggest threat.
- Delta Work
- Le Richebourg
- Blow By Blow
