Rattled off a hat-trick in the summer on the AW but signs on his last couple of starts that the handicapper has caught up with him. Makes Fibresand debut and fair chance he will go on this surface so not ruled out from a handy draw.

Has a fair record on AW and has run well on his two runs here (both C&D). Very well-handicapped on some of his form and best effort yet for this yard at Chelmsford last time; leading player.

Made a very promising start to his career with two AW wins but has lacked enthusiasm on recent starts and can be slowly away. Fair chance he can be effective on this surface but needs first-time cheekpieces to reignite the flame.

Returned from an absence with an excellent second at Wolverhampton last time and due to go up 2lb when reassessed for that. Step back up in trip in his favour and while he disappointed here twice in the spring, he arrives in better form this time.

Sole win came on turf in Ireland but has returned to form with some better efforts of late, including AW debut last time at Wolverhampton. Step back up in trip in his favour and fair chance if he takes to this surface.

Tailed off on rare start over hurdles last time. Won at Chepstow earlier in the campaign and has been running well from his revised mark subsequently in this sphere. Course debut and his form at other AW venues uninspiring.

Two wins from 16 starts, the latest at Carlisle in September. Had been running well in defeat prior to a poor effort last time but his propensity to start slowly could be against him around here.

Has only won twice in 25 career starts but they both came here (6f). Has shaped like he will stay this trip and back on his last winning mark but may struggle to overcome this wide draw.

Returned to form with a much better effort at Wolverhampton at the weekend and will go up 3lb for that second placed effort when reassessed by the handicapper. Didn't seem to enjoy his only other run around here but hard to rule out.

Yet to win in 15 starts and the handicapper has been slow to relent. Often slow to break, as seen last time at Lingfield and he will struggle if he does that on debut around here. Cheekpieces retained.

Two-time C&D winner who is back below his last winning mark after some disappointing efforts of late. Wide draw perhaps scuppered his chance last time and not much better off here so probably best watched again.

Has largely been in good form since joining this yard and not beaten far at Wolverhampton last time when third of 12. Won a claiming race here and posted a couple of respectable efforts in handicaps from higher marks so shouldn't be far away.

Just one win from 15 starts but shaped like a return to form was imminent on course debut here last time, doing well to stay on having set a strong pace. First-time visor could see him in an even better light and expected to go well.

On a 29-race losing run at present and showed very little when slowly away here last time out. Has run well at this course without winning before but big leap of fair required to support him here and e's a doubtful stayer over this trip.

Forecasts

Robero (5/1), Katheefa (6/1), Stanley (6/1), Mr Minerals (13/2), Pickett's Charge (8/1), Desert Dream (8/1), Kupa River (9/1), Angel Palanas (14/1), Bobby Joe Leg (14/1), Bold Spirit (16/1), Newstead Abbey (20/1), The Groove (25/1), Winklemann (33/1), Lucky Beggar (50/1)

Verdict

It might be worth taking a chance on KATHEEFA who ran well at Wolverhampton last time out and may come on for that run. A first-time visor should see Stanley in a better light and he made an encouraging Southwell debut here last time. Robero is too well-handicapped to ignore and completes the shortlist.
