Winner of a similar event at Stratford in June and only 2lb higher here, so no qualms from a handicapping point of view, but two lesser efforts since then and now has a little to prove. Trip fine though, so could bounce back after a short break.

Seems to be getting the hang of things over hurdles and latest close fourth in a low-grade handicap at Huntingdon was another small step in the right direction. May have improvement in him and on that alone, has to be considered here.

Hinted at ability more than once in novice/maiden company and his last of nine at Hereford last time not as bad as it sounds. Will strip fitter for that and has track form, won't mind any rain either, so one to consider.

Has to be one of the favourites for this after her romp at Fontwell last time, the further she went the happier she looked. Penalty to carry here but that won't stop her if she's in the same form, and any rain a plus.

Unlucky not to win one of her last couple of starts, denied by small margins at both Wolverhampton and here at Taunton last time out. Nudged up 2lb for that but in form and trip fine. Needs the rain to stay away, though.

Nothing if not consistent, not out of the first two last five starts and although recent efforts have come over shorter, he does stay this trip. Seems no reason why he won't run his race again and despite another rise in weights, should go well.

Now 5lb lower than when just denied at Market Rasen in May, but that's down to some pretty poor efforts and he was beaten out of sight at Exeter earlier in the month. Others make more appeal.

Just 3 wins in 48 starts tells you he's no win machine, not disgraced here last time but neither did it scream "winner next time" either. Given overall profile, not hard to go looking elsewhere for the winner.

Hoover Fever7
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-0| J: H Cobden| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  88

Mark already falling after a few moderate efforts in low grade handicaps and she already looks regressive despite being with top trainer. Stamina for this far from guaranteed either.

Going nowhere quickly and addition of a hood last time did little to stem the flow, although at least he travelled a bit better. Market needs a check as he's ridiculously well handicapped if he does rediscover some form, but hard to fancy.

Hadn't completed in her previous two starts so her Wincanton thrashing of 10 other opponents last time came a bit out of the blue. Upped 13lb for that easy win but clearly on the up and must be taken seriously.

Only went off 6-1 for handicap debut at Wincanton last week but was far too keen and finished well beaten. Better was clearly expected so is worth another look in the market here.

Form over hurdles so far is moderate, to say the least, and the addition of a tongue tie today is going to have to have a major effect. Hard to make any sort of case for.

No win in 12 starts but does at least come here off the back of a better effort at Plumpton last time (chase), although winner has let that form down since. Each way chances in a moderate contest if repeating the run.

Verdict

Quantity rather than quality. BONZA GIRL won as easy as you like at Fontwell and under a penalty, is taken to follow up. She won't mind any rain. Definite Winner is the other on an upward curve and despite a hike in the weights, can give her most to do. Rocket Ronnie doesn't know how to run a poor one and has to be considered, along with possible improver Texan Nomad.
