Now 1lb below last year's handicap win for Jeremy Noseda but tailed-off on stable debut at Wolverhampton and remains one to watch.

Left John Gosden for 28,000 gns at the Newmarket July sales but has failed to make any sort of impression in three starts for his new yard. Hard to make a case for.

Has proved consistent so far and shaped at Yarmouth as though there may be more to come up to this trip. Could be involved however refused to load here on latest intended start

Universal Command13
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: Tom Marquand| T: H & R Charlton| OR:  84
3/1
Made a promising return from a year's absence when third off a slow pace and then proved far too good at Wolverhampton. Up 10lb but won with plenty in hand and likely still ahead of the handicapper.

Villette6
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-4| J: R Havlin| T: D K Ivory| OR:  81| C| D
11/2
Returned from a break to gain a fourth career win when successful at Newmarket but failed to improve on that over 1m3f here last time. Drop back in trip may help and can be competitive.

Guvenor's Choicet7
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: C Lee| T: K R Burke| OR:  83
6/1
Has run to a consistent level on his last three starts and after getting involved in a duel ran with credit at Newcastle. Would prefer a shorter trip but unlikely to be far away.

Sing Out Loud46
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Charles Bishop| T: C Gordon| OR:  82| BF
16/1
Shaped well on his only previous AW start for Gary Moore but has yet to prove he stays this far. New stable struggling for Flat winners and others look stronger candidates.

Noble Expression15
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-1| J: Charlie Bennett| T: J R Boyle| OR:  81
66/1
Returned with a good third following a lengthy absence and subsequently sold out of Roger Varian's yard for 40,000 gns. Tailed off on stable debut over 1m4f and has plenty to prove now.

Listed winner for Richard Hannon in his prime but performances deteriorated and failed to impress over hurdles latest. Remains best watched.

Livvys Dreamh27
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: R Winston| T: C Hills| OR:  77| C
2/1
Has proved progressive in winning twice before a good second off an unsuitably slow pace over this trip at Newmarket. Won on her only previous visit here and likely plenty more to come.

Paddy The Chef71
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: Joey Haynes| T: Ian Williams| OR:  74| D
20/1
Proved disappointing at Sandown when never getting involved after previously racing generally consistently. Needs to bounce back but market support would be interesting.

Forecasts

Livvys Dream (2/1), Universal Command (3/1), Villette (11/2), Guvenor's Choice (6/1), Plunger (10/1), Sing Out Loud (16/1), Paddy The Chef (20/1), Dommersen (20/1), Intrepidly (40/1), De Bruyne Horse (40/1), Noble Expression (66/1)

Verdict

UNIVERSAL COMMAND remains lightly-raced and won with such a lot in hand at Wolverhampton that he remains one to keep on the right side of. Livvys Dream is a clear danger particularly as she's likely to get a more suitable pace to aim at. Villette boasts a good strike-rate and will be better suited by this drop in trip.
