Switches back to hurdles after failing to complete in his last two chases in the spring. Is on his last winning chase mark here, but probably better in that sphere and this is tough enough on his reappearance.
Wasn't far away when 2lb lower at Kelso (heavy) in February and again respectable, if not as good, when last seen at Hexham in April. Has the ability to get heavily involved from this mark and goes well fresh. Interesting.
Dual winner of novices hurdles on testing ground last season, and ran well to be second at Catterick, when 2lb lower in January. Held over further there when last seen, but unexposed and very much a contender.
Has shown little in three recent starts, but on a very competitive mark if cheekpieces can aid with a revival. Needs to bounce back, but not written off.
Dual heavy ground Kelso winner. Still 1lb higher than the more recent of those. Yet to win when fresh, but has the ability to make an impact if ready first time after a break.
1-19 over hurdles, so not easy to catch right. Little encouragement from recent efforts, but if he can repeat the level of form he showed at Musselburgh in March, he would have claims. Has that to prove, however.
Good ground Perth bumper winner on debut last year. Improving performer over hurdles. Up 3lb for recent career-best at Kelso, but provided he is as effective on slower ground, he enters calculations.
Has done all his winning at Kelso at up to 3m2f. Wind surgery did not appear to have an immediate impact, when beaten 65L on his recent return. 3lb lower but plenty to prove.
Showed some promise in a couple of his maiden/novice runs, both here. Initial mark looks stiff enough on paper, but check market for any confidence.
2-15 over hurdles, but out of form form quite some time and best watched.
Put up a career-best here (heavy) on his reappearance recently. Up 1lb for that. More needed, but can't rule him out.
Forecasts
Niceandeasy (3/1), Sunny Destination (7/2), Mighty Thunder (7/2), Ryedale Racer (7/1), Arctic Vodka (12/1), Plus Jamais (14/1), Arthurs Secret (16/1), Road To Gold (20/1), Steamboat Bill (25/1), Landecker (33/1), Shtan On (33/1)
Ryedale Racer goes well after a break, so could be primed for a good reappearance here, while Mighty Thunder is of interest and Sunny Destination merits consideration after his recent career best. Arctic Vodka is on a dangerous mark if he can come back to his best, but preference is for NICEANDEASY, who is unexposed and could be suited by the return to this sort of trip.
- Niceandeasy
- Ryedale Racer
- Sunny Destination
