Showed the benefit of experience when pulling away nicely to win at Carlisle (2m1f) two weeks ago. Life will be tougher now under a penalty but going the right way and a leading contender once more.
Fairly useful performer on the flat that used to be with Godolphin. His one start over hurdles last year came on very heavy ground and he didn't like it so no more rain would be a bonus. Has the ability to do quite well in this sphere.
Pulled up in his last two points and was tailed off on rules debut at Plumpton last week. Not been with this yard long but needs to up his game to be involved.

Ran a cracker on bumper debut at Cheltenham last month, leading until late on when getting tapped for speed. bred for further than this but will be right in the mix if able to transfer that bumper form to hurdles.

Formerly with Gary Moore for sole bumper run. Encouraging start over hurdles at Chepstow three weeks ago when right in there pitching until late on. Further progress likely on just second start over hurdles for this yard.
Showed very little in a novice hurdle and chase when last seen over two years ago. Best watched for now.

Looked sure to win on debut but for falling at the last at Ascot in January. Found the Grade 1 a touch hot at Aintree in the spring and looked in need of the run here in heavy ground two weeks ago. Likely to do much better here.
Point-to-point winner at the 12th attempt on yielding-to-soft ground in Ireland. Tailed off on debut for this yard on hurdling debut at Kempton two weeks ago and needs to improve on that.

Sent off a short price favourite for hurdling debut for Sue Smith back in January but fell when looking held in third. Returns from a break of over 300 days and starts life for a new yard today. Better expected and market should guide.

Capable on his day on the flat and likes soft ground so the more rain the better. Ran better than the market expected to hurdling debut at Newbury last time when a keeping on fifth of 16. May ultimately need a bit further than this in time.

A winner at Brighton on final start for Roger Varian. Three runs for this yard including two over hurdles have been average at best (well behind Nordic Combined at Newbury). Needs plenty more.

Showed plenty of promise in four starts over hurdles last season. Returns from a seven-month absence and the hood is now applied for return to action. Likely to be in the thick of things if fit and ready to go.

Bumper form showed some promise. 100/1 but didn't get any further than the first flight on hurdling debut. best watched for now.

Ability on the flat and should make into a hurdler. Well held in fourth at Plumpton three weeks ago but that was a fair effort. Interesting to see what the market makes of him compared to Age Of Wisdom.

One win from three starts on the flat in France and has a rating of 81. Picked up for €75,000 on the back of that win and starts life here over hurdles for leading yard. Positive jockey booking and market check essential.

Scorpion gelding purchased for €30,000 as a three-year-old. Massive price and never on terms on hurdling debut at Bangor two weeks ago. Needs plenty more.

Failed to complete in all four starts in points. New yard today but can only be watched on hurdling debut under rules.
Average flat performer who was always happiest with cut in the ground. Could well take to this game given her profile on winter ground and market check is certainly needed.

Forecasts

Clondaw Anchor (7/4), Champagne Court (10/3), Et Moi Alors (4/1), Nordic Combined (8/1), Klare Castle (12/1), Shivermetimbers (16/1), Tegerek (20/1), Cilaos Glace (20/1), Age Of Wisdom (25/1), Stormingin (25/1), Oden (50/1), Born To Please (66/1), The Vollan (100/1), Glorious Boru (100/1), Sirobbie (100/1), Beet Topper (100/1), Writingsonthewall (100/1), Due South (100/1)

Verdict

An interesting contest with several of these likely to be better than what they have shown so far. Clondaw Anchor sets the standard after his runaway success at Carlisle last time. The penalty for that win does make life a little tougher this time around. Gary Moore has some weapons here though and we should see more from ET MOI ALORS this time who would be winning this comfortably if returning to the form of his debut run at Ascot. Age Of Wisdom is of interest for the same yard if it doesn't get too soft, whilst the more rain the better for Nordic Combined.
