Winning hurdler/chaser; despite that chasing win doesn't look a natural over the larger obstacles. Has fallen to a good mark and this is his easiest task for a while but he's looked short of pace in a couple of 2m starts this year and now tries 2m4f.

Has proved consistent since being sent over fences; both wins came on decent ground which suits her smooth going style. Given her last chance to run in a novice last time (decent race; came 2nd); this looks a suitable opportunity back in handicaps.

Quirky yet capable sort who was in good form over the summer but looks to have rather lost his way of late although his last run was in a very competitive grade. Won over C&D earlier in the year off a 12lb lower mark; needs to dominate his races.

Had a rather stop-start profile to his hurdles career although he did manage to win on his chasing debut off a 7lb lower mark. Didn't quite click in two subsequent outings although conditions may have been too soft; returns from a break.

One of the more experienced in this field with a good strike-rate over fences (5-16). Went through a purple patch around this time last year (won three handicaps in a row) but struggled after that; didn't shape too badly on return off a falling mark.

Showed a little more like his old form in the summer in a couple of races at Uttoxeter and Perth off marks well below his current one. Pulled up last time on his return to fences after a bad error; others look to provide more scope.

Interesting sort who landed a 2m2f handicap chase here off a 2lb lower mark for a former yard last year. Failed to follow-up in two starts and ran a lacklustre race recently on debut for this yard; likes to make the running.

Switch to distances of less than 3m have seen an upturn in his fortunes winning three of his four starts since returning from a break. Up a further 4lb for his most recent win at Hereford as he's forced back up in grade; should be in the picture.

Forecasts

Tommy Silver (2/1), Sister Sibyl (7/2), Deauville Dancer (6/1), Roll The Dough (6/1), Bestwork (9/1), Eyesopenwideawake (10/1), Officer Hoolihan (14/1), Workbench (16/1)

Verdict

This should be run at a sound pace with both Bestwork and Eyesopenwideawake appreciating being ridden from the front although the contested pace may well temper the winning aspirations of both. Tommy Silver drops in grade and is given his easiest task for quite some while as he’s also stepped up in trip but he’s yet to totally convince over fences. SISTER SIBYL ran in quite a hot Cheltenham novice last time (her last chance to run in novices) doing well over a trip that looked a little sharp and this strong travelling sort will be suited by this 2m4f. Roll The Dough isn’t out of this over his best trip but does have to cope with a higher grade than of late.
  1. Sister Sibyl
  2. Roll The Dough
  3. Tommy Silver
