131-rated hurdler, makes chase debut here. Most recent success over 2m4f at Ballinrobe in May. Race-fit but might want more emphasis on stamina than seem likely.
Thrice-raced chaser, did at least manage to complete the course at Galway (2m6½f, good to yielding) latest having unseated/fallen previously. Worry his jumping will come apart over this trip.
Thrice-raced maiden hurdler for Warren Greatrex in Britain, watching brief advised on the back of two starts in Galway beginners' chases so far for new handler.
Three solid efforts so far over fences, placed in each, including runner-up effort over C&D a fortnight ago (Jetz unseated). Should get involved once more.
Fancied on chase bow here a fortnight ago, ran freely and hard to say what was left when unseating rider three out. Duca De Thaix went on to finish second in same contest.
One of three for Gigginstown in here and two for trainer Henry De Bromhead. Appears the stable second string today.
Fourth in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March amid pleasing efforts over timber last term. Entitled to claims if taking to fences and in good hands to do just that.
Entitled to win hurdles race at Clonmel (2m½f, good) recently but will have gained confidence from doing so. Twice a faller over timber this year, which ensures caution advised on chase bow.
Started from a low base and picked up five wins over hurdles in Britain this year. However, tailed off over this C&D a fortnight ago on first chase start and very tough to see how that turns around quickly.
Forecasts
Paloma Blue (10/11), Duca De Thaix (7/2), Jetz (4/1), Roaring Bull (11/1), Art Of Security (16/1), Or Jaune De Somoza (20/1), Chateau Conti (25/1), Clash Of D Titans (50/1), The Jam Man (50/1)
Fourth in the Supreme at Cheltenham in March, PALOMA BLUE showed some smart form last term and could be destined for brighter things now going chasing. He's in excellent hands and should know his job first time out. Duca De Thaix finished second in a C&D contest a fortnight ago where Jetz was well fancied only to unseat Robbie Power late on. Both can have claims now. This trip may not be ideal for Art Of Security while Roaring Bull must prove his jumping before earning a confident vote in this sphere.
- Paloma Blue
- Duca De Thaix
- Jetz
