Thanks To All Our Customers 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle (Div 1)

3YO only | 2m | 17 Runners | Turf | Weighed In

Off time: 11:36 | Winning time: 3m 57.80s

Balgowlah²¹

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: M A Enright| T: C A McBratney

66/1

Sent off 66/1 on recent hurdling debut at Down Royal (2m½f, good to yielding) and unable to land any sort of blow, needs a big improvement.

Form: 8

Flat To The Max^b1¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| BF

8/1

Navan bumper winner in April, twice let favourite-backers down in maiden hurdles at Ballinrobe and Fairyhouse since coming back in. Has to improve in new blinkers, respected connections.

Form: U9

Here In The Dark²¹

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: C D Maxwell| T: T G McCourt

7/1

Modest Flat maiden for Keith Dalgleish who joined this yard for £6,000 in September. Outran odds of 66/1 at Down Royal on hurdling bow (5L down in fourth), may want a bit further.

Form: 4

Nibiru^t²⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: E O'Connell⁽⁵⁾| T: A J Martin

11/1

Won a 6f Naas maiden on debut around a year ago, some fair form on the Flat since but tackling a new ball game today. Market check needed.

Form:

Paul Patterson⁸⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: Liam McKenna⁽⁷⁾| T: J J Lambe

100/1

Approve gelding out of a Groom Dancer mare. Cost €10,000 as a juvenile. Looks modest based on two Flat runs for previous handler. Jumps bow.

Form:

Power Sail⁴⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: G N Fox| T: G P Cromwell

14/1

Modest winner on the Flat, has joined Gavin Cromwell team doing well this season and one to take note of in the betting for first jumping test.

Form:

Tiger Voice²⁴²

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: R M Power| T: H De Bromhead

1/1

Three-year-old Poet's Voice gelding, won a maiden on the Flat in France before joining this excellent trainer and booking of Robbie Power interesting for jumps bow.

Form:

Union Gap¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: Sean Flanagan| T: N Meade

7/1

Modest 58-rated handicapper on the Flat, improved on second jumps start to be 5L fourth at Fairyhouse (2m, good) in a maiden earlier this month at odds of 50/1. Could threaten place money now.

Form: 94

Walking On Glass^t1⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: J S McGarvey| T: P Roche

100/1

Big prices and no impact in three Flat maidens this autumn and tailed off on hurdles bow at Punchestown recently. Hard to fancy with tongue-tie added today.

Form: 0

Cailin Rua¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: Danny Mullins| T: Miss S J Harty

100/1

Tailed off at Fairyhouse this month on debut having gone off a 66/1 chance. Hard to make a case for on that evidence.

Form: 0

Colour Me In²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: T Mullins

66/1

Below standard six-race maiden on the Flat and difficult to see the daughter of Zoffany making any impact on hurdling debut here.

Form:

Extrasensory^t²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: P D Kennedy| T: Mrs J Harrington

33/1

Arcano filly lacked consistency but certainly showed ability on the Flat (rated 79 at best). Makes jumps for Jessica Harrington and worth a market check.

Form:

Flying Mary²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: C Brassil⁽⁵⁾| T: M Brassil

28/1

Thewayyouare filly picked up for relatively small money, beaten wide margins in three starts on the Flat over 1m4f. Switches focus to jumping with plenty more called for.

Form:

Grasping At Straws^t²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: C J Orr⁽⁷⁾| T: M Mulvany

14/1

Six-race maiden on the Flat, makes her debut over timber here and will have ground to suit if the rain stays away. Market informative.

Form:

Paula's Prayer³¹

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: Ricky Doyle⁽⁵⁾| T: C O'Dwyer

80/1

Big prices in all three Flat maidens, latest of those at Navan over 1m5f last month was not devoid of some promise. Goes jumping for the first time and could have more to give.

Form:

Stormy Falls⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: R Loughran| T: P A Fahy

100/1

Thewayyouare filly related to multiple winners, achieved little on the Flat and never a factor in Punchestown maiden hurdle this month having gone off a 66/1 chance on jumps bow.

Form: 0

Uluru Park^t1¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 10-7| J: A E Lynch| T: B W Duke

33/1

Flat maiden, perhaps too keen on hurdling bow at Fairyhouse recently and paid price late on, not devoid of some promise however and chance of better if settling.

Forecasts

Tiger Voice (1/1), Union Gap (7/1), Here In The Dark (7/1), Flat To The Max (8/1), Nibiru (11/1), Power Sail (14/1), Grasping At Straws (14/1), Flying Mary (28/1), Uluru Park (33/1), Extrasensory (33/1), Colour Me In (66/1), Balgowlah (66/1), Paula's Prayer (80/1), Stormy Falls (100/1), Walking On Glass (100/1), Paul Patterson (100/1), Cailin Rua (100/1)

Not much to go in terms of form but the booking of Robbie Power to partner French Flat winner TIGER VOICE on first outing for Henry De Bromhead certainly catches the eye. This may not be the strongest heat and the Poet's Voice gelding could be the answer. Flat To The Max has twice let his backers down and must improve to stand a chance, though clearly time remains on his side. Here In The Dark shaped as if a longer trip might be required on his hurdling bow but is respected while Power Sail, Paula's Prayer and Nibiru are amongst the interesting first-timers over sticks.
