Form: 2760-72

Balkinstown^t¹⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr C Dowson⁽⁷⁾| T: R Stephens| OR: 92

Running well without winning this season including when fourth at Hereford (good-to-firm) over an extended 3mf last time out. Held by Welluptoscratch on that form.

Form: 223844

Fearsome Fred¹⁹⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: Tom Cheesman⁽⁵⁾| T: Dr J R J Naylor| OR: 90

11 race maiden placed over 2m7f at Exeter (good-to-soft) on his penultimate outing. Probably best watched on his first start since May.

Form: 23283-7

Mauna Kea¹⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-8| J: Conor Shoemark| T: P Gundry| OR: 88

14/1

Well beaten in three starts since returning from a break including at Fontwell (3m2f, good) recently. Others hold stronger claims.

Form: 4-34P76

Sizing Sahara¹⁹⁷

Age: 10| Weight: 11-2| J: Nick Scholfield| T: P Henderson| OR: 82

10/1

Fair seventh in a 3m handicap hurdle at Towcester (3m, good) in May. Absent since and others hold stronger claims in this contest.

Form: 43/347-7

Jonjoela¹⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 10-6| J: Graham Carson⁽⁷⁾| T: Tracey Leeson| OR: 72

16/1

Point-to-point winner but a 12 race maiden under rules. Thid over an 3m1f on good ground here earlier this month but likely more needed if she's to register victory on this occasion.

Form: 5U-U053

Lamh Ar Lamh^h,t¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-5| J: S Bowen| T: N J Hawke| OR: 71

Ran out on her penultimate start but ran well when finishing runner-up over 3m1f on good ground here last time. Races off the same mark and capable of running well once more.

Forecasts

Welluptoscratch (6/4), Balkinstown (7/2), Burgess Dream (7/2), Lamh Ar Lamh (4/1), Fearsome Fred (10/1), Sizing Sahara (10/1), Mauna Kea (14/1), Jonjoela (16/1)

WELLUPTOSCRATCH can defy top weight to take the concluding handicap hurdle. The selection returned to form with a second last time and he looks capable of seeing off the filly Lamh Ar Lamh who receives weight from all of her rivals in this event. Third place can go to Balkinstown who finished two places behind the selection last time.
