Fair bumper performer, all-out to hold on when winning a maiden hurdle at Thurles (2m6½f, good to firm) this month. Steps up in trip and must prove stamina on handicap bow.

Has potential to get involved on best form, though comes here on the back of a poor effort in Cork National over larger obstacles, market check suggested.

Won a maiden hurdle over 2m4½f here in June. Has to improve on form of two starts since if hoping to have a say now tackling 3m for the first time.

Maiden hurdle scorer at Clonmel this month over 2m4f on good-ground. Makes handicap debut here and pedigree suggests 3m trip will suit.

Mare won a maiden hurdle at Cork (2m4f, good) with plenty in hand despite not always jumping fluently. She's entitled to improve in that department and worth a look going up in trip on handicap bow.
6

Arctic Lightt14
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-4| J: Mark Walsh| T: T Mullins| OR:  108| BF| C

Second runner for the yard, has stamina to prove over this trip and was poor last time at Cork (2m4f, good to yielding) having gone off favourite. Not totally written off.

Une Lavandiere14
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-4| J: J M Moore| T: N Meade| OR:  108

Good effort in the competitive Cork National recently on comeback, makes handicap hurdle debut here and entitled to consideration. Chance would be increased by any rain.
8

King's Wart114
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-3| J: M F Mooney| T: P Mooney| OR:  107
16/1
17-race hurdling maiden, had shown some better signs recently but was in trouble when hampered last time at Cork over 2m4f and essentially has to improve in first-time tongue tie.

Horse silk
Clontarft266
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-0| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: D A McLoughlin| OR:  104| D
11/1
First run over timber since 2016, was out of form chasing when last spotted and has fitness to prove on first start for 266 days. Good jockey booking, watch market.

Horse silk
Brosna Georget16
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: N P Madden| T: A L T Moore| OR:  101| D
7/1
Off the mark over timber at Down Royal last time over this trip on second start for this yard. Has gone up 5lb for that success but has to be on the shortlist.
11
Horse silk
The Ballyboys12
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-7| J: D J McInerney(3)| T: R Hackett| OR:  97| D
8/1
Fortunate winner of a 13-runner handicap hurdle at Cork last month (3m, good) under this rider. 5lb higher mark now having unseated since over fences but may harbour place claims back over timber.
12
Horse silk
Holy Motivationp21
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-5| J: A Ring| T: G Elliott| OR:  95| D
16/1
Mare remains a maiden but she had shown distinct promise at Downpatrick and Tipperary last month before failing to justify market position at Wexford (3m, yielding to soft). Has chance if forgiving that run.
13
Horse silk
Sinndar Sandyp21
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-4| J: Donagh Meyler| T: Michael G Cleary| OR:  94
33/1
Downpatrick second over 2m5½f (yielding to soft) in August off this mark is standout amongst five starts so far, not written off back in handicap company having struggled last time at Wexford.
14
Horse silk
William Tyndale7
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-11| J: Robbie Colgan| T: K Thornton| OR:  87
33/1
Ran out of steam quickly and was pulled up at Navan (2m6f, good) last week on return from more than 500 days off, hard to recommend on that evidence.
15
Horse silk
Nancy Maher17
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-10| J: Sean O'Keeffe(7)| T: Miss E Doyle| OR:  86
33/1
Lightly-raced mare, unseated rider at the third on recent handicap hurdle bow at Clonmel over 2m4f. Has something to find and 2lb wrong on these terms.

Forecasts

Court Maid (9/2), Jack Fiasco (6/1), Arctic Light (7/1), Brosna George (7/1), The Ballyboys (8/1), Ozzie's Way (9/1), Los Alamos (11/1), Clontarf (11/1), Major Destination (12/1), Une Lavandiere (14/1), King's War (16/1), Holy Motivation (16/1), Sinndar Sandy (33/1), Nancy Maher (33/1), William Tyndale (33/1)

Verdict

Brosna George has seemingly upped his game since joining Arthur Moore and is respected despite a 5lb increase for his recent Down Royal win. The Ballyboys too needs a look back over timber but might be vulnerable for win purposes. Major Destination and Los Alamos are both worth a market check but COURT MAID could have plenty to say on her handicap debut after winning last time at Cork. She should be suited by this stamina-test and will be in the mix with improved jumping. Clonmel maiden winner Ozzie's Way should also be on any shortlist going up in journey.
  1. Court Maid
  2. Brosna George
  3. Ozzie's Way
