Carries a penalty after landing the odds (8/11f) in comfortable style at Hexham (2m, good) last week; should take all of the beating for locally based trainer Karen McLintock.

Well beaten in both starts in bumpers and weakened tamely from three out on hurdles debut at Kelso (2m maiden) last month; hood retained; needs to take a significant step forward.

9/1
4-6 in French bumpers (1m1f-1m4f) prior to joining James Ewart; not fluent over C&D in February (soft) when finishing a most disappointing fourth of five to Absolutely Dylan; possible that he'll appreciate today's quicker ground.

12/1
Twice placed in Irish bumpers before being sold for £21,000 in September; no problems with the forecast ground conditions and potentially capable of making his presence felt on hurdles debut.
6

25/1
€20,000 yearling; dam modest (well beaten in bumpers and over hurdles; 2m to 2m4f); 50/1 when finishing a weakening sixth of ten to Al Dancer on hurdles debut at Carlisle in October (2m1f, good to soft); improvement possible.
7
Horse silk
11/2
3-17 on the Flat (1m2f, Class 5 winner at Ayr in May); could prove capable of winning races over hurdles if able to prove his stamina, but the jury is out on that score based upon his opening 18L fourth at Sedgefield (2m1f maiden).

40/1
11-race Flat maiden who is yet to even threaten to trouble the judge (41-rated); hooded for hurdles debut and makes absolutely no appeal whatsoever unless the market speaks in a massively positive manner.

Forecasts

Weather Front (4/11), Remember The Days (11/2), Empire De Maulde (9/1), Point Break (12/1), Raecius Felix (25/1), Into The Breach (25/1), Legalized (40/1), Broomey Road (125/1)

Verdict

On paper this looks to be a weaker race than the one WEATHER FRONT took in pleasing style at Hexham (2m, good) last week, so he ought to prove very difficult to beat with the ground (an excellent cover of grass) very much riding on the fast side of good. In terms of potential dangers, one would anticipate that that the Ruth Jefferson-trained Raecius Felix will improve for the run at Carlisle, but a clear preference for the forecast is the hurdles newcomer Point Break.
