Having had four runs on the Flat for John Quinn he now debuts for a new yard over fences having run in point-to-points since (failed to win). Faces a very tough test here.
Useful over hurdles he's shown good/consistent form since winning at Ludlow in April. Raced freely last time out on his return and should be in good shape for his chasing debut but does come across a leading prospect in this division.

Stable had a good day at Lingfield yesterday with a double but this one is unlikely to add to the roll of honour. Might be better over fences than hurdles but has little chance at the weights here.
Dual winning hurdler who was far from disgraced on his recent comeback over hurdles at Market Rasen (always best off a strong gallop). Now makes his chasing having won twice over hurdles here before; like most has a stiff task in this.

According to the trainer he's going to be a much better novice chaser than hurdler who will be suited by this trip and the ground. Shaped well over hurdles when last seen (had a rather luckless run); should run a sound race.

Appears to have gone the wrong way since winning here on heavy ground on his GB debut. Poor on his return to action at Chepstow (pulled too hard) he's shown very little to suggest he can trouble the best here on chasing debut.

Forecasts

Black Op (4/5), The Russian Doyen (5/4), I'm A Game Changer (6/4), Show On The Road (6/1), Kildisart (7/1), Sully D'Oc Aa (8/1), Mercenaire (12/1), Minellatillmorning (25/1), Over The Arch (100/1), Aumit Hill (100/1)

Verdict

BLACK OP won his only point-to-point by 25L and given his fine hurdles form enters this season as one of the leading novice chasing prospects and should be hard to beat here if he runs to that form. He won’t have it all his own way though as there are some decent threats led by I’m A Game Changer who looks a decent prospect in his own right along with Kildisart who went down by 5L in his only point-to-point to the useful Claimantakinforgan. The Russian Doyen is another who needs respecting along with dual course winner over hurdles Show On The Road with French import Sully D’Oc Aa a must watch for a market move.
  1. Black Op
  2. The Russian Doyen
  3. I'm A Game Changer
