Improving sort over fences, scoring at Killarney and Punchestown in the summer. Likely has more to offer, race-fit from recent hurdles win and front-running sort will not be easily reeled in. Respected.

Has some fair form over this 2m trip in his locker, getting little change from the likes of Altior, Min and Un De Sceaux in his time. Didn't appear to stay 2m4f at Gowran Park last month in a Grade 2 contest. Should go well down in distance.

Landed the 2017 Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival amid golden spell for trainer. No win in 11 runs since however and probably sees that sequence extended now.

Four wins from nine chase starts, she has finished second on all three starts this term. Drops back to 2m here and would surely do well to fill that same position now. Respected connections.

Verdict

Front-running tactics have seen BALLYOISIN improve of late and he had plenty in hand when scoring at Killarney and Punchestown in early summer. He took advantage of a lower mark to score over hurdles at Listowel when dropped to 2m and he should put the others under pressure with his bold attitude now. Doctor Phoenix didn't appear to relish facing those tactics in the spring but he can go well on his return while the drop to this trip could see Ordinary World picking up his fair share of prize money. Despite getting weight the mare Listen Dear surely must improve for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh to end a run of seconds.
