14/1
Not the easiest to train seemingly, but 2lb lower than when finishing fourth in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham in March over similar trip. Could go well fresh.

Plinthb,t34
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-1| J: J J Slevin| T: J P O'Brien| OR:  133| CD
7/1
Reliable C&D winner, finished fourth behind Bedrock at Tipperary early last month, with that rival franking form by taking Samcro's scalp since. Should give a good account.
3
Horse silk
Walk To Freedomh484
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-0| J: R M Power| T: Mrs J Harrington| OR:  132| D
20/1
Off the track for the thick end of 500-days, does have some fair form in the book though. Market should prove an effective guide.
4
Horse silk
De Name Escapes Met198
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: Mark Walsh| T: N Meade| OR:  130| D
5/1
Excellent third over 3m at Punchestown in the spring when last spotted. Can hardly be accused of consistency but would have fair claims on a going day.
6
Horse silk
Brex Drago27
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-7| J: J B Kane(5)| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  125| D
6/1
Game winner at Clonmel in September in previous hurdles start, below par on the Flat since and, from 9lb higher mark likely must jump cleaner to add to tally.
7
Horse silk
Air Supremacy27
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-6| J: L P Dempsey| T: J P O'Brien| OR:  128| D
12/1
Won his first two starts over timber in decisive fashion, since found out in Listed Limerick event (2m5f, good) but on a seemingly fair mark now going handicapping.
8
Horse silk
Mr Diablo544
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-6| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: J P Dempsey| OR:  124
25/1
Has a 544-day absence to overcome and reverts to hurdles for it, would be a surprise if this is a winning return in the circumstances.
9
Horse silk
Fitzhenry232
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-4| J: J S McGarvey| T: P Nolan| OR:  122| BF| CD
8/1
Very consistent over the last 12 months, twice winning over fences and going close at Fairyhouse (3m, good) in January on soft-to-heavy going. Has won since from higher chase mark, noted.
10
Horse silk
Slippery Serpent24
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-4| J: Paul Townend| T: E J O'Grady| OR:  122| D
10/3
Punchestown winner last month (2m4f, good), travelling powerfully and seemingly getting things done with a bit in hand. Gone up 6lb but should stay in the mix.
11
Horse silk
Russian Bill700
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-3| J: Sean Flanagan| T: N Meade| OR:  121| C| D
16/1
Off the track for a mammoth 700-day but returns with stable in fine form and off a workable mark, so worth at least a check in the betting.
12
Horse silk
Chisholm Trail2
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-12| J: Sean O'Keeffe(7)| T: P Nolan| OR:  116| BF| D
20/1
Gowran Park maiden hurdle winner in June over this trip, appeared to have a chance at Thurles on Thursday back up in distance but effort quickly petered out and was pulled up. Connections go again quickly.

Horse silk
Randalls Ur Poetp13
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-12| J: C A Landers(5)| T: S Fahey| OR:  120
12/1
Placed twice at Listowel in September over the trip, held latest at Galway when close to 20L down in fourth. Others have more appeal here.
14
Horse silk

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-10| J: J M Moore| T: N Meade| OR:  118
9/1
Far from disgraced in fifth at Galway (2m5f, yielding) late last month, drops 1lb and remains unexposed, could harbour place claims.

Forecasts

Slippery Serpent (10/3), De Name Escapes Me (5/1), Brex Drago (6/1), Rooster Byron (13/2), Plinth (7/1), Fitzhenry (8/1), Vision D'Ete (9/1), Randalls Ur Poet (12/1), Air Supremacy (12/1), Sire Du Berlais (14/1), Russian Bill (16/1), Chisholm Trail (20/1), Walk To Freedom (20/1), Mr Diablo (25/1)

Verdict

A wide open heat it seems but SLIPPERY SERPENT travelled powerfully well at Punchestown last time and didn't appear to have shown his full hand in winning. He's up 6lb and in a stronger race now, but the manner of that win bodes well. Air Supremacy's hat-trick bid came up short in Listed company at Limerick but he too has fair claims in a handicap while Plinth, Sire Du Berlais and Rooster Byron can all get in the shake-up for places.
  1. Slippery Serpent
  2. Air Supremacy
  3. Plinth
