Penalised for his C&D win to open his account after 8 months off the track he shaped well enough (jumped well) to defeat a small field. He'll need to reproduce that and a little more here giving weight to a couple of useful rivals.
Only a modest handicapper on the Flat who stayed 7f and he makes little appeal over hurdles with his lack of stamina a minus. Has had two attempts over obstacles so far and failed to make an impact in either.
Quirky sort on the Flat who was a winner on 2nd start for Sir Michael Stoute but all of that is a long time ago now and he's only modest in that sphere these days. Showed little of late and now makes his hurdling debut and tough to side with.
Pulled up in his one Irish point-to-point and quickly dispatched from Ian Williams yard after one start (pulled hard; wore hood). His headstrong nature is still evident and holding him back despite a wind op prior to his first start for this yard.
Fair handicap chaser who has reverted to hurdles after a break recording two second places. Beaten by a subsequent winner on the first occasion he really ought to have won last time but idled and was caught on the run-in; doubt about application.
Maiden on the Flat who has been placed a few times but has an overall record of 0-11. Offered very little on his hurdles debut at Wincanton in May taking a keen hold and not landing a blow.
Four-time winning chaser who has been hit hard by the handicapper for his last win and run poorly in that sphere the last twice. Not seen in this sphere for ages but his usual tongue-tie returns although he still remains vulnerable (weak finisher).
Drops back to 2m having made his hurdles/stable debut over further last month showing very little promise for the future. He had little form on the Flat and it's highly unlikely he will be competitive here.

Very little strength in depth in this although due to the various quirks of two of the main protagonists we could have some fun and games at the finish. Despite having to concede 6lb to the whole field C&D winner WHAT'S OCCURRING looks the safest option given that he’s straightforward and jumps well. Super Scorpion really ought to have won last time out when he idled and was caught on the run-in although he did have to have his slipping hood removed at halfway and incident won’t have helped. Valseur Du Granval returns from a break having found the handicapper tough on him over fences; he travels well but isn’t the strongest finisher and may get outbattled here.
