Dual three-year-old winner for Ger Lyons, wasn't able to add to that for Ralph Beckett and well beaten into last on both starts for current stable. Hard to fancy.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-10| J: M Harley| T: H Fry| OR:  84| D

Winner at Wolverhampton last year for Michael Bell, was disappointing on stable debut but back to his best at Doncaster. Drop in trip and grade should suit and likely to go close.

Last two wins have come over 1m2f on quick ground. Below that level here on softer ground latest. While that was a tough ask this step up in trip and surface remain a question.

Just 2lb higher than last winning mark with distance and going fine. Had been in consistent form before disappointing at Nottingham and needs to bounce back.

Mixes hurdling with Flat racing with more of a focus on the former. Tough ask when last seen at Ayr in June and returns on a workable mark. Likely to need the run.

Only won once so far, in 2017 on heavy ground. Made the frame six times this season so remains pretty consistent and likely to go close again following latest narrow defeat.

Without a win this season, but had been in solid form for new stable before disappointing the last twice. More needed now.

Age: 4|  Weight: 8-12| J: David Egan| T: Ian Williams| OR:  66| D

Bits of promise on five starts for David Simcock and returned form a near year absence for a good effort on stable debut and then was promoted after crossing the line in second at Newbury. Might be ahead of the handicapper up just 3lb.

Harmonise197
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-10| J: M Dwyer| T: Miss S West| OR:  70| C
33/1
Returns to the Flat on last winning mark but this trip likely to stretch her stamina and probably using this as a warm up for another hurdling campaign.

Forecasts

Winston C (2/1), War Brigade (5/2), Hawridge Flyer (9/2), Nietzsche (9/1), Compton Mill (12/1), Purple Rock (16/1), Derek Duval (20/1), Harmonise (33/1), Lustrous Light (50/1)

Verdict

For a trainer who does so well with his imports from other yards WAR BRIGADE could have a lot more to offer after rightly being awarded the race on his second start for his new team. We probably haven't yet seen the best of Winston C and these conditions could prove ideal while Hawridge Flyer is taken to place yet again.
  1. War Brigade
  2. Winston C
  3. Hawridge Flyer
