Now just 2lb higher than last winning mark and ran well in a bunch finish last time. However all three wins have come over Newcastle's 5f and may be vulnerable here.

Has been in decent form on last four runs and back on last winning mark, however seems to prefer a furlong further nowadays.

Won two of first three back in 2015 but hasn't added to that since. Looks one to oppose on balance of recent form.

Winner over this C&D back in July and three solid runs from four on turf since. Returns to the AW a touch high in the weights but can't be discounted.

Largely consistent this year for David Simcock before disappointing at Brighton. Needs to improve on latest stable debut over 7f at Epsom.

Last two runs for Jamie Osborne and Michael Bell have been poor and now changes trainers yet again. Hard to make a case for.

Won his first two career starts but hasn't won since and losing run is mounting up. Beaten favourite at Pontefract latest and needs to lift on first run here.

Just two wins from 28 starts (both over this C&D) and remains 2lb higher than the last of them. Might appreciate a return to here but needs to find more on recent form.

On same mark as last win here and although he's lightly-raced, he was tailed off at Thirsk and was most disappointing on his latest return to this track.

In good form in the early part of summer but tailed off on recent return at Kempton and needs to raise his game to be involved.

Won a seller for Michael Attwater but has run to a very consistent level since with two wins and two seconds in handicaps for new trainer since. Goes well here and likely to go close.

In good form with two solid seconds on turf. Winner over this C&D four starts back but concern he's not as good on the AW and this current mark on this surface leaves him vulnerable.

Forecasts

Monumental Man (5/1), Anonymous John (5/1), Mutabaahy (5/1), Venturous (11/2), Letmestopyouthere (7/1), Walk On Walter (15/2), Pennsylvania Dutch (10/1), The Amber Fort (11/1), Harry Beau (12/1), Lord Of The Glen (12/1), Royal Connoisseur (18/1), Equally Fast (40/1), Bobby Joe Leg (40/1)

Verdict

Mutabaahy is suited by the C&D, is in good form and looks sure to go close while likewise Anonymous John may not be the best weighted but is in good heart and should be involved. Preference is for MONUMENTAL MAN who is thriving for his new trainer whilst running to an admirably consistent level and remains extremely well handicapped on form from just over a year ago.
  1. Monumental Man
  2. Mutabaahy
