Shock 100/1 winner on his second start at Pontefract last month where a debut 10th of 13 effort was completely left behind. Both races over 6f but bred to appreciate this step up in trip. 6lb penalty makes life tougher.

Newcomer by Kingman is a half-brother to three winners, all at a useful level with US Grade Two scorer Projected the best of them. Yard not prolific with two-year-olds but this there lone runner here today so market check advised.

Oasis Dream newcomer is a half-brother to three winners out of an Oaks winner in Eswarah. Leading yard has a 24 per cent strike rate with AW two-year-olds so has to be considered a likely sort here on debut.

Promising debut second at Ascot where he was headed late on led to 1/5 odds at Wolverhampton latest but was no match for a 7L winning debutant. Comfortably beat the rest there so safe to assume winner was smart; one to beat here.

Pivotal filly was green on debut but kept on for fourth at Pontefract. Shade disappointing she couldn't build on that next at Chelmsford (fourth of five) but now goes up 2f which should suit so better is expected.

Forecasts

Headman (8/13), Repaupo (15/8), Open Sea (8/1), Mutasaamy (12/1), Our Rodney (50/1)

Verdict

REPAUPO was turned over at long odds-on last time out but there is no telling how good the runaway winner was so that second placed effort coupled with his debut second at Ascot still makes him appealing here for the champion trainer who has a 43 per cent strike rate at this track. Shock winner Our Rodney makes some appeal, he will need more still here under the penalty but an extra 2f might bring about improvement. Of the debutants Mutasaamy makes most appeal as a son of an Oaks winner.
  1. Repaupo
  2. Our Rodney
  3. Mutasaamy
