Half-brother to fairly useful chaser The Cobbler Swayne out of an unraced half-sister to very smart chaser Colonel Braxton. Just in need of the run when fourth to Gallowglass at Limerick on debut, and sure tom improve on that.

Baile Liam24
Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: E T Daly| T: P Nolan
9/1
Son of Getaway who showed a degree of promise when 18¾L fifth of 8 to Vocarium in maiden at Gowran on hurdling debut, but he'll need to improve plenty for switch to bumpers if he's to win this.
3
Horse silk
Fortune Street307
Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: Mr B O'Neill| T: P Nolan
3/1
Mid-field in a pair of bumpers 8 months apart in 2017, and looked the type to do better in time, so possible a lay-off since his last run will have helped him strengthen up, Market useful.

Still an entire, and related to plenty of winners, including Grade 1 Ashland Stakes (Keeneland) winner Christmas Kid. On the other hand, he went through the ring for just €850 earlier this year, and has presumably had his problems.
Pulled up on debut in this sphere, and beat just one rival last time, so impossible to fancy here despite the fitting of headgear.

Mount Pelier220
Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: C P McNamara(7)| T: A Fleming| BF
11/10
Second to Champion Bumper runner-up Carefullt Selected on bumper debut, and filled same spot at Naas next time. Bit disappointing when last seen, but still sets the standard, and should go well.
Central Park gelding who showed ability when fifth of 9 to Chapmanshype in maiden bumper at Punchestown. Entitled to improve for that initial experience, and not ruled out.

50/1
Well held in both starts in this sphere at Thurles, and although tried in a hood now, he makes no appeal.
9
Horse silk
33/1
Son of Dylan Thomas who raced freely when down the field in a bumper at Clonmel last month, and while he should do better, he's hard to recommend here.

Forecasts

Mount Pelier (11/10), Valdieu (2/1), Fortune Street (3/1), Acronym (7/2), Baile Liam (9/1), Pakens Rock (10/1), Sinbad (33/1), Lahloob (33/1), Popcorn Sutton (50/1), Lostinvillierstown (66/1)

Verdict

MOUNT PELIER wasn't at his best on his final start, but his second to Carefully Selected at Leopardstown last Christmas represents warm form, and he ought to be hard to beat if ready to go. Valdieu put up his best effort when second at Punchestown last time, and looks a danger, while Acronym is the type to improve markedly from a promising debut.
  1. Mount Pelier
  2. Valdieu
  3. Acronym
