Winner here two starts back over C&D off a 4lb lower mark. Couple of solid efforts off this mark in stronger races since and likely to run his race once more but maybe find one or two too strong.
Got up late in the day to win at Chelmsford over this trip last month. Two subsequent efforts not as good and needs to bounce back here.
Won well at Windsor four starts back but form has gone off the boil since albeit in stronger races than this. Needs to bounce back now but still higher in the weights that for that Windsor success.
Previous C&D winner who bounced back to form to win at Salisbury three weeks ago. Nudged up 3lb back on the AW here and has a little to find with Polybius on their clash here the time before.
Been well held in some big field handicaps over the summer and made a return to form when just held off by Helvetian at Salisbury last time. This is a drop in grade and has a 1lb pull with that rival here so every chance of going well.
Has made the running for both victories and had to settle for second when unable to get to the front at Wolverhampton on handicap debut last time. Nudged up 2lb for not winning but on an upward curve and dangerous if leading here.
Has run well in some big field events so far this year and mark is falling to an attractive level. It would be no surprise if this previous C&D winner were to bounce back to form here.
Won back-to-back races at Windsor and LIngfield (turf) before flopping here in August. Returned from a short break to run a cracker at Ascot three weeks ago and sound claims if able to build on that once again.
Goes well for this rider and was back in the winners enclosure over C&D last time having travelled well behind the leaders. Only nudged up 2lb and every reason to believe he should be competitive once again.
Best effrots have come on quick ground so surprising to see her sent off favourite on soft ground at Pontefract last time where she folded tamely. 0/7 on the AW and now needs to bounce back and produce career best to win here.
Been on a large upward curve this year rattling off a hat-trick and then winning again at Navan last month. Good draw to attack from here and no saying when that progress will end.
Forecasts
Tashaaboh (7/2), Polybius (9/2), Procedure (6/1), Upstaging (6/1), Louie de Palma (7/1), Merhoob (9/1), Helvetian (12/1), Only Spoofing (12/1), Vegas Boy (12/1), Lightning Charlie (14/1), Quench Dolly (50/1)
LIGHTENING CHARLIE was always in command here last time and can make light of his small rise in the weights to win again. Tashaaboh will be dangerous, especially if granted a soft lead. Whilst Louie De Palma and Helvetian are closely matched on their Salisbury clash.
- Lightning Charlie
- Tashaaboh
- Louie de Palma
