Showed ability on debut and improved on that when placed third of 15 here last time out. Drop back in trip on quicker ground probably not ideal.

Verdict

A competitive looking heat in which Aidan O'Brien has a strong hand. EMPIRE STATE put up a much improved performance last time and he makes most appeal with experience on his side. Merricourt ran with credit on debut and should progress while Georgeville is an interesting debutante to keep an eye on in the market.
