Course winner but has paid the price for a smart effort here over 6f three starts back and may need some relief from the handicapper. Drops in trip.
In good form this year but signs the handicapper has caught up with him on recent evidence and he's never won from a mark this high or over this trip.
Hasn't won for over three years now and while obviously well-handicapped as a result, he's never won over this trip and he's been in poor form of late.
Back to back victories this summer but hard to accept the ground was to blame for a poor run last time and possible the handicapper has her measure. Drops in trip.
Got his head back in front at Windsor a couple of starts back but he's been struggling in four runs since and he's hard to predict. Feasibly handicapped if he can put it all together.
Two-time C&D winner including this race last year and who he will be well suited to these conditions again here. Probably made his effort too soon at Ayr last week and capable of better than that.
Won his first two career starts but hasn't won since and losing run is mounting up. No signs of a revival on recent starts and hard to fancy on all known form.
Does most of his winning around Beverley and probably wants fast ground to be seen at his absolute best but he's in fine form at present and he's still feasibly handicapped. Should get his head in front soon.
Won four times in 2016 but hasn't won since and Mark Johnston failed to get a win out of him. Has shown no improvement in two starts for this yard and he's a risky proposition at present.
Forecasts
Pennsylvania Dutch (5/2), Van Gerwen (11/4), Arcavallo (11/2), Mr Orange (7/1), Musharrif (10/1), Tylery Wonder (11/1), Red Pike (12/1), Stewardess (16/1), Afandem (16/1)
Last year's winner VAN GERWEN looked a little unlucky last time out and he's expected to run well in a bid to defend last year's success. Musharrif is in fine form in recent weeks and while creeping up the handicap without winning, he can't be ruled out. Tylery Wonder is still on a decent mark if he can put his best foot forward.
- Van Gerwen
- Musharrif
- Tylery Wonder
