16/1
£10,000 3yo (sold privately recently); second foal out of an unraced dam who was a half-sister to the 2m4f hurdle winner Cuteasafox; market helpful in assessing his chance.
£2,200 yearling; well beaten on both starts so far, including at odds of 80/1 at Kelso (2m) just over a month ago; unlikely.
3
Horse silk
11/8
Third foal; half-brother to point/3m hurdle winner Mollies Glen; dam out of a bumper winning mare; first ever Sedgefield runner for County Kildare trainer Peter Fahey.
4
Horse silk
7/2
€4,000 3yo; half-brother to a couple of French winning chasers; very creditable (weakening) 3L third to Earlofthecotswolds at Market Rasen (2m+, good) in September; trainer 4-14 (29%) here since 2008.

14/1
First foal out of an unraced dam who was a half-sister to the 2m4f-4m hurdle/chase winner Universal Soldier and the 3m-3m1f hurdle winner Skipthescales; hooded for debut on ground likely to be riding plenty quick enough.
6
Horse silk
25/1
Eighth foal; closely related to the 2m-2m2f hurdle/chase winner Kilmurry; tongue-tied for debut; her County Down trainer is 0-2 at Sedgefield since 2008.
7
Horse silk
9/4
Half-sister to bumper winner Tom Lamb, and the latest filly out of a fine family line; seemingly much improved for wind surgery, and her ¾L C&D second to C'Est Le Bonheur sets a mightily strong benchmark for the others.
8
Horse silk
100/1
£2,200 yearling; third foal; dam an unraced half-sister to the French 1m4f Listed winner Christel Flame and the useful 2m-2m6f hurdle/chase winner Bold Fire.

Forecasts

Honourary Gift (11/8), Emma Lamb (9/4), Risk And Co (7/2), Toi Storey (14/1), Ardglass Star (16/1), Doyen Mckay (25/1), Spy Fi (100/1), Fields Of Fire (100/1)

Verdict

An informative race for the future, with a couple of these runners at least looking capable of winning races with the benefit of valuable experience under their belts. However, for the purposes of today the pair to concentrate upon (unless the market speaks strongly) are Risk And Co and EMMA LAMB. Jamie Snowden has a decent record at this track with his small sample of runners, but his No Risk At All gelding looks set to play second fiddle to a filly who showed masses of improvement for wind surgery when going down fighting behind a promising type over C&D 19 days ago.
  1. Emma Lamb
  2. Risk And Co
  3. Ardglass Star
