Gelded and underwent wind surgery before leaving Sir Michael Stoute to join his current trainer. Has paid his way sine with a win at Carlisle and a good second at Ayr last time out. Still well handicapped and worth considering whilst in good heart.
Drops in grade but has been well below his best this season and is hard to fancy just now. Also possible that 7f isn't his ideal trip these days.
Capable on his day and acts well with some cut in the ground. Was a good second from this same mark at Leicester last week but not certain to repeat the effort when the balance of recent form is taken into account.
Makes his first start on grass since last November and it also has to be a concern that he's been out of action for the better part of the whole turf campaign. (Never yet win on turf (0-13) and has a lot to prove just now.
Not badly treated at the weights and does handle cut in the ground so has a feasible chance on the pick of his form. Quite whether he's better on a stiffer course is open to debate but can go close if he gets a strong pace to latch onto.
His solitary win came over 5f (soft) at Doncaster last September and he's been expensive to follow since then. On a reasonable enough mark but recent evidence not convincing enough to support him with a win only punt.
Suffered with a stiff looking mark after he won at Beverley on his racecourse debut as a juvenile and it's taken a while to get competitive again in handicaps as a result. The pick of his recent form suggests he can go close at this level, though.
Form figures read well for consistently making the frame. However, he's becoming expensive to follow as his last two starts have been disappointing for his followers. Others more convincing this time.
Held his form since joining his current yard and has few issues with the state of the ground or trip. Raced alone on the stands rail when just pipped in a seller last time but still ran a sound race. Worth considering. First-time cheekpieces.
Very well treated on the pick of his past form but seems to have lost his way a touch since his heyday and has been struggling to force results to go his way in Class 6 races of late. Comes with risks attached.
Goes well here but is possibly better suited by racing over at a mile these days; well held in a course seller last month and limitations plain to see. Should run his race but needs others to underperform if he's going to make an impact.
Set to race from 3lb above her last winning mark (at this course over 6f) and has been placed - albeit in selling grade - over C&D before today. Stable struggling for winners just now, though. Needs to be at her best.
Not seen out since finishing second in a seller at Thirsk in July and the fact that he's 0-16 on turf is a telling factor about his overall profile. Also open to debate as to whether 7f is his most appropriate trip.
Forecasts
Slipstream (7/2), Young John (4/1), Beverley Bullet (6/1), Naples Bay (15/2), Acadian Angel (15/2), Desert Dream (9/1), Admiral Rooke (16/1), Abushamah (18/1), Sir Billy Wright (18/1), Somewhere Secret (25/1), Angel Palanas (25/1), Clergyman (33/1), Someone Exciting (50/1)
DESERT DREAM is holding his form well and could be capable of giving his rivals weight and a beating at this level. Slipstream has an equally consistent profile and is suggested as leading contender, while Naples Bay doesn't have much to find and edges out Beverley Bullet as the best of the rest.
- Desert Dream
- Slipstream
- Naples Bay
