Arcadio gelding, picked up for €1,300. Little impression on debut at Navan in a Maiden hurdle last month before finishing down the field at Galway earlier this month.

Gelding by Ask out of a Flemensfirth mare. Hard to begin to construct a case for the five-year-old on belated racecourse debut.

Only one moderately promising effort from four in bumpers so far and has plenty improvement to find on a dismal maiden hurdle debut when last seen in August.

Ran well to get within 9L of Scaglietti at the Listowel festival recently before disappointing at Navan last month.

Presenting mare, could manage only ninth of 13 in novice hurdle at Tramore on debut before unsatisfactory start at Kilbeggan in August beaten 47L in a 2m2f maiden.

Promising second in Fairyhouse bumper on heavy ground December but failed to match that in three starts since. Big step forward needed here.

Daughter of Milan out of a Presenting mare. Half-sister to Jezki, Raya Star and recent Chepstow bumper winner McFabulous. Market likely to be best guide here.

Forecast

Shanakey (7/4), Owenacurra Lass (2/1), Ask Neilus (5/1), Ballon Onabudget (6/1), Enquire (12/1), Sansimmar (20/1), Make Me Merry (25/1), Lorca's Novena (50/1)

Verdict

The Gordon Elliott-trained ASK NEILUS under Lisa O'Neill can land the spoils in the closer here. The five-year-old wasn't far behind the impressive Scaglietti at Listowel last month and can be forgiven her run on quick ground at Navan last time out. The Willie Mullins-trained Shanakey effort at Listowel was too bad to be true and can prove the biggest threat to the selection. Sansimmar and Owenacurra Lass can battle for the remaining place.
