Cheap New Approach filly put of a dam who was a useful performer. Makes debut for a young trainer who has got off to a good start and has caused a few upsets.
Has shown little in either start. Stable have a good record in this race but she needs to step up considerably.
Le Havre filly from a middle-distance family. Will be happier over this trip than on debut, but she is having to make a huge leap from an inauspicious debut.
Rio De La Plata filly and third foal of a French middle-distance winner who has produced two winners who both needed further than this. Stable have a 5-19 record with juveniles here since 2014.
Third foal out of a 1m2f-1m4f winning dam. Never a factor on debut and likely to be out of her depth again.
Dubawi filly out of a Group 3 winner. Stable 5-14 with their youngsters here since 2014 and the market would be expected to lend a clue to expectations.
Inexpensive Havana Gold filly related to three winning milers. Stable had a good spell with their juveniles in August but are 0-16 since.
Homebred daughter of Poet's Voice out of a useful 7f/1m winner. Only had two behind her on debut and that effort does not look good enough.
€70,000 daughter of Lope De Vega related to five winners including Italian Group One winner Dylan Mouth. Represents a top yard with a good team of juveniles in a race that will take little winning.
Half-sister to Newcastle specialist Lord Caprio. No show in either start but nurseries beckon after this and she will be more of a force then.
Unraced New Approach filly who cost 70,000 gns. 11th foal of a dam who was third in the 1000 Guineas and has produced five winners, including two who were Pattern standard.
Oasis Dream filly out of a modest AW winner. Stable also has Shamameya and she would have the more appealing pedigree.
Mukhadram filly is half-sister to five winners who mostly excelled over middle distances and two of them became hurdlers later on. Debut effort confirmed she is a long-term project.
Forecasts
Mannaal (2/1), Poetic Legacy (4/1), Dalakina (11/2), Gatria (6/1), Shamameya (9/1), Lady Lizzy (16/1), Poet's Magic (25/1), Miss Havana (25/1), Upper School (40/1), Lady Reset (50/1), Whistler Bowl (50/1), Brinkleys Katie (66/1), Scandinavian Lady (150/1)
None of those with experience have shown enough sufficient promise so this may well go to one of the three choicely bred debutantes, MANNAAL, Poetic Legacy or Shamameya. The market will tell us more, but the selection hails from a yard with a 5-14 record with youngsters here since 2014 and the rider is 5-15 on the yard's runners in this age group in 2018.
- Mannaal
- Poetic Legacy
- Shamameya
